Ive had Anak in Sumartra which is clear and gets you hammered. You have put pineapple in it or something to over the fact you are probably drinking methylated spirits.
(on a plus it would kills worms or any other intestinal parasites though).

And had real Absinth in Portugal about 30 years ago and thats like nail polish remover and makes you feel insane, but never tried moonshine.

Did you get hammered or just try for taste?

Some pure spirits you dont get hung over at all.

    Like the Thai whiskey 'Mekong'.

At the end of our trek in Nepal we had a party with all our sherpa's. We gave them about two pounds, and they came back with a metal petrol container full of rakshi, which was a real kicker. Three bottles of Everest beer and a few glasses of that and we were all dancing and singing!

Distilled millet. And it is kind of embarrassing when guys who weigh six stone can outdrink you!

Watched Top Gear and they said Nascar came out of people doing up their cars so that the police could not catch them with their moonshine.

    Dukes of Hazzard style.

My father told me that, back in the 1930s, my grandfather made some type of liquor in their basement. My father was the taste tester- he was about 9 or 10 at the time. Normally he would drink a glass of wine and go to sleep, but my mother returned from Croatia with some absolute toxic poison my relatives there had created and my father was able to drink shot after shot of that stuff.
The Tonto Basin area of Arizona was famous for many years for "white mule" moonshine.
