Just watched an old fight of his against Alvaro Lopez. John won the title in 1974 and made 1 defence and split with Francis and subsequently broke his hand in a non-title fight, which may have not happened if Francis was there to bandages correctly his hand.
John was then off for 14 months and fought Lopez in Copenhagen, Why?
He was stripped of his title, Why?
and never unified against why?

Injuring his right hand reminds me of Lloyd Honeyghan and also being stripped, unfortunately John never regained the title again.
