    Default joe gallagher

its unusual for me to post on a sunday but after watching the matthews crolla fight i wanted to come on today for 2 reasons

    1) to see what peoples thoughts on the stoppage were and they are obviously similar to mine

    2) because i am a little irritated with joe gallagher

the stoppage was far far too soon in my opinion, yes crolla was in a spot of bother but this was a british title fight and crolla was the champion and very much in the fight. Fighters are suppose to have tough spots in fights and have to go down and get back up

the best fights the world has ever seen are those where fighters go down and get back up and make a fight of it

but i suppose the main reason for my appearance today is because I want to know what your thoughts of joe gallagher as a trainer are

he seems to get it fighters in terrific condition, and they hold a stance that enables them to absorb a lot of punches, chin down hands up, very compact, they throw fast punches and combinations out of like a box style

but thats all he knows, his fighters all fight very much the same way with only slight differences and there is never a plan B

if plan A isnt working, lets try plan A

crolla, john murray, stephen smith in recent fights are all shining examples of the lack of ability to adapt

even macklin v sturn was the same, it just so happened that that style is a good style to use against sturn

    am i being harsh?

Joe Gallagher fighters fight with there face, he needs to work on all his fighters defence as none of them
seem to have any.! Go forward hooks to the body very one dimensional, all fighters need a defence I
just hope Quigg has some when he's in there with Munroe. Don't get me wrong I like a brawl but your
fighter must have more than the ability to brawl.
As I have said I like Quigg but now he's stepping up in levels, boxing is the name of the game not brawling do I rate Gallager no not really.

I think you're spot on. However, it must be said a lot of his fighters appear to make it to the top level at least on the domestic scene, so he must be doing something right.

Trouble is the top level they need to adapt, and the fighters in his stable don't seem to be able too
you must admit Crolla is over hyped. Matthews is way past his best it was a good fight at domestic level. Some times you need to keep your feet on the ground, Crolla would need all the luck in the World to get his hands on the EBU title.
Harsh I may be but in this case the truth hurts, and Crolla was hurt and cut great pity he is a nice guy
I have lot of time for all fighters you need guts, to get in that ring win lose or draw this is just my opinion. Can I say good luck to Gallager and all his fighters.

yeah it does seem that way, although a lot he looks after were already there when they came to him, although maybe thats a bit harsh

it just seems to me that his fighters fight one way regardless of who they are fighting or what is happening in the fight

there doesnt seem to be any gameplan going into the fights other than chin down hands up and march on
