According to espn Pirog injured his back during training and is out for his august match with golovkin, was really looking forward to this. Hopefully a suitable replacement is found for golovkin and not another 15-5 no hopper. Sucks for pirog since he gave up the title to be on hbo, who is to say they'll put him back on when he's healthy again. Lots of good fights falling thru this year for one reason or another, sucks.

That is a huge bummer. Having this fight, the Martinez-JCC fight, and Geale-Sturm all in quick succession was really going to go a long way to sorting out the MW division. I've still yet to get to see Golovkin -- have just read the breathless hype from all corners. Not sure who of any quality is left for him. Peter Quillin maybe?

Utter disappointment. Kid Chocolate turned down the offer from what I understand. Barker/Murray? Outside of Pirog, Geale, Sturm, Martinez, Junior and Quillin, not sure where to go. I doubt N'Jikam would take it as he passed on the offer to fight Golovkin previously too.
