    Default Hatton comeback?

World Boxing News: Mystery Ricky Hatton comeback 'quotes' unconfirmed

    What's everyone thinking?

It wouldn't surprise me if he attempted a comeback, he loved the adoration of the fans, being a promoter may be keeping him busy but can't some close to being the same buzz surely.

He may get a few wins but can't see a long successful comeback.

Nothing confirmed as the article says so could be a load of bollocks but would be interesting anyhow.

Hatton in top shape and firing on all cylinders would have been a nightmare for Khan. relentless pressure. Hatton is still young would be a good fight to see.

    Khan is no Pac

    Supposedly malinaggi is being mentioned...

But Khan? Come on guys. Khan would batter him now. It's a mismatch. The only 2 guys with decent speed Harton fought knocked him clean out.

Khan would do the same and I don't even like khan

Hatton should stay out of the ring. He made the right choice and should stick to it!
I agree with you, Khan would eat him up!

I always figured he would return...don't think he'll be all that good though. Malinaggi would give him hell now. I really hope Hatton fights Cotto haha

I ridiculed this comeback statement when I read a post only a few hours ago but there could be something in these articles...

Ricky is on his holidays till Monday so I'm sure if it is true there will be a press conference or an official statement about it next week.

Oh man say it ain't so. Far be it for me to tell anyone how to live but boxing is dangerous and Hatton would know about its dangers far more than me. I really don't think that it's a good decision but if he does do it I wish him the best.

These are feelers about vying for a big money fight. Hatton & Khan are the next biggest money makers next to Mayweather & Pacquiao near the weight class. Bradley is in the same income bracket as Marquez. Expect Bradley's next fight to be pretty flat unless it against Pacquiao or Mayweather. I think the gift win ends up back firing. Khan has the following but not the talent to take the mega money mantel. The new commer is Alverez but he needs the big name win closer to prime to get to the mega star ranks.

I hope and don't think he will return. If he did though I still think he brings way to much pressure for Malinaggi and in his prime at light welter he would have given a good account of himself against Cotto.

yeah mate that is exactly what I said in the other thread yesterday.... but I also contacted them yesterday expecting the "don't be silly reply" but instead I got a "he's away till Monday so we can't really comment" reply... so reading between the lines on how these things work they might just be a little truth in it.

it would make sense, imagine you used to fight for millions and now your doing more work promoting for less money and more fingers in the pie.

it would make sound business sense to come back as there are a few big money fights out there for him.

guess we will know for sure next week.

He'll only come back if he's blown all his money on pies, hookers, pies, blow and more pies.

I don't want to see a Hatton comeback to be honest, I think the hitman is better retired. He's done what he needed to in the ring IMO and the long lay off wouldn't have done him any favours. He's got nothing left to prove and I think Paulie at 147 might be too much for Hatton. I was impressed with Paulie last time out, I think he's quite a good champion.

Hatton would need a warm up fight definatley before I could judge him, but I think the whole cocaine episode and heavy drinking and three years out of the sport would have effected his performance to compete at the world level now.

Hatton lost his way. Just because he was fighting at the elite level he felt he needed a big name trainer that's why he went to Mayweather. Never should have left Billy Graham, he would more than likely still have lost but not like he did, where was the head movement, the defence, attacking from different angles. He might as well have had his arms tied behind his back and hopped towards Pac that night, it would have been just as effective.

I'm not saying I think Hatton is going to come back and unify but if he fights again i'll be supporting him and will enjoy every minute of it.
