Default Lucas Matthysse - Ajose Olusegun this weekend!

Whos your picks for this one?? Glad Ajose has finally got his break, and is fighting for the interim title, he should have had his shot a while, but obviously hes not well known enough yet. Hes got a major step up against the highly rated Matthysse. This is a massive test for him, I really dont know how he will get on. Does anybody see him springing any surprises against Matthysse? Or has everyone got Matthysse to win this one comfortably?

Matthysse for me, dude is a decent enough boxer and has dynamite in his hands. A good case can be made for him bein undefeated. Hopefully its even half as fun as his 5rounder against soto that was sick...

A year or two ago, I've picked Matthysee to be the best 140lber. I'm still going with that. Hopefully he can get another title shot sooner then later. It will be nice to see him in the ring with the likes of Rois, M&M or JMM one day.

I am not familiar with Ajose Olusegun, other than that the WBC has relegated him to purgatory status, during the Garcia reign at light welterweight. Matthysse punches with ferocity and heavy hands. He can box a bit too. I favor Matthysse.

Matthysse is one of my favorite fighters, he has KO power, always comes to fight and puts on a good show.
    Sept. 8th
At Las Vegas (Showtime): Ajose Olusegun vs. Lucas Matthysse, 12 rounds, for vacant WBC interim junior welterweight title; Ishe Smith vs. Irving Garcia, 10 rounds, junior middleweights.

This card starts @ 9:00 PM ET on Showtime Saturday night, a bit earlier than the HBO - Dawson vs. Ward card.
Olusegun is a perfect 30-0 but only has 14 KO's, Lucas will walk through his punches, bust him up, and knock him out in one of the later rounds.

Olusegun didnt make a name for himself at any level in britain because he isnt british and he isnt exciting

if he had come over and was knocking everyone out then people would watch and he probably would have been a lot better known

but he won fights by winning rounds

he had a couple of good KO wins against numbebay (ha) and bradley price and then just won fights after that

he looked a lot more exciting in his first fight in the US tho

i hope he wins as matthysse is a cheating argie bargie after all

For those who have Showtime Extreme, the undercard for this fight is on now.

Thanks Diane, I just tuned in:
J'Leon Love just stopped Ramon Valenzuela, up next Ishe Smith vs. Irving Garcia, 10 rounds, junior middleweights.

The fight that was on first was Daquan Arnett vs. Jesus Tavera. The Love/Valenzuela fight is opening up the regular Showtime airing.

Looks like the Smith/Garcia fight won't go the distance.

Ishe Smith is taking it to Garcia, I don't think this will go more then a round or 2.

Garcia is game, but he's taking a beating. I wish they'd use either Farhood or Thompkins to call the regular Showtime fights in place of Gus Johnson. I like both of those guys.

Well Ishe slowed his pace a little, so we'll see if he can end it early or not now.

And yeah, I can't stand Gus Johnson either.
