Still recovering from a back injury i think. Don't forget he beat Ishida like 9 months ago or summat! That was a world class win too. We will see him again soon im sure...It wasn't really lucky. It's not like he wasn't trying to avoid punches. Pirog has a good defense, but it's a shame he hasn't done much lately.

Pirog is a very good fighter and I hope his return to health is quick.
GGG is a notch above him and Danny Nacobs I'm afraid. The video illustrated it. European kfighters get typecast as too "textbook" but Pirog is the opposite. The late (and great, GREAT) Manny should have illustrated how off balance and how much of a horrible bend at the waist

For all intents and purposes, Pirog's career is over. He's 32. His win over Jacobs should have catapulted him onto world level. It didn't. Instead he's remained in Russia fighting average fighters. Ishida isn't bad, but he's a level below Jacobs. Macial was a better win. Where is Pirog going to go now? He has no belt. Why would any of the champions face Pirog? Too much of a risk. Unfortunately, injuries have sidelined his career likely forever, although I like Pirog and hope he bounces back, it's unlikely at this stage.

I generally side with technicians over power punchers in a match between the two but Pirog hasn't done much lately and GGG is staying consistently active.
Still...gotta go with Pirog on this one.

It would be an outstanding fight either way
Many are hyping Golovkin & I can see why
But I'd still favour Pirog over him if he gets active (say 2 fights under his belt) & records a decent win over another contender type
