When i watch young George fight i kinda realize mike would've destroyed him the way George did frazier, to much speed, to much power, to much accuracy.

My God, Smokin' Joe was such a tough man, he got back up every time and kept trying to fight back.

Big George, what a specimen he was in his younger days.

Goin' into that fight, Smokin' Joe was the man with the reputation, while 24 year old Big George did have a pile of KOs but none were against world class opponents except for a past-his-prime George Chuvalo.

yeah, those 2 aspects really create a dynamic in this fight. Amazing Specimen Foreman and Tough Ass Proud Frazier. One relatively inexperienced and "iffy" and Frazier ridin' high after beating Ali at MSG.

What a clash and few expected THAT utter Bomb OUt to happen in 1 round and a half.

    i enjoyed that

its funny the first half a minute the commentator is all frazier, both men land, georges punch is much bigger yet its fraziers that gets the mention

just looking through foremans record the one blip is the jimmy young fight

yeah the ali loss and a couple of close fights in his older days but the jimmy young fight is a bit unexplainable, almost just a bad day at the office

    what happened there?

Foreman went temporarily insane right at the end of the Young fight - he thought he died in the ring then turned into Jesus in the dressing room, which led to his retirement. Great stuff.

The first Ali fight took a lot out of Frasier than he would have cared to admit. His eye sight was getting worse and that would not have helped when he fought George.

Yes boys I have often said that the 1st Ali-Frazier fight medically ruined both fighters. Seriously if you watch that March 8 1971 fight at MSG you cannot medically believe what you are seeing there. Literally hundreds of power punches skull-splitting shots from both fighters for 15 rounds---no human being can be the same after that. No damn way.
