Considering he fought at welterweight before I never thought 152 would be detrimental to his performance and yeah he did look pretty good.

He has to meet 152 the day before the fight they weigh in... afterwards he is allowed to go up to whatever weight he chooses.

'Cause a few d!<k-heads in the mid-80s decided to move the time of the weigh-in.
From the 1800s to the mid-1980s, the weigh-in was held the day of the fight.
In the mid-1980s, Dr. Flip Homansky and jose sulaiman pushed to move it the day-before, and now it's re-gol-darn-diculous! Men fighting for Titles when they're actually 3 weight-classes above it!
    172 pound men fighting for 154 lb Titles. (154, 160, 168, 175)
That makes him a Light-Heavyweight fighting for a 147 Title.
Fighters are opportunistic, they'll look for an edge, take any advantage. They think coming in heavier is an advantage, but it's really not as they're weakened from severe dehydration and more susceptible to brain-injury.

Severe dehydration of 18 pounds is so dangerous, I'm surprised we haven't seen any deaths from it involving high-profile fighters yet.

The problem is people will drain themselves in order for bigger fights and cash rewards whether it's the same day or day before the fight. I'm not sure either is preferable the most crazy thing I've seen is Chavez Jr he is a light heavy fighting at Middleweight.

... and the reason why they put it a day ahead is because of the fighters safety BECAUSE they were coming in weight drained for the fight. That plus weight drained guys give crappier performances- check on Chad Dawson, Chris Byrd and Eddie Chambers in their most recent losses moving down in weight.

That being said: I would prefer both guys have the option of re-hydrating back to a more comfortable weight than to go in weight drained.

At the end of the day, you still have to fight.
    Bigger man George, bigger punch!

Easy win for Money. You heard it here first. May even knock Canelo out.
