Default Why Not A Jr Middle Weight Tourney?

    OK OK OK,
I know it will never happen. Besides, Cotto and Canelo is to big already to be in a tournament. But if I could put together a tourney that would pay the winner of those two PPV money until the tourney ends, here is what I'll do . . .

    Round 1(PPV)
    Cotto vs Canelo
    Trout vs Lara

    Round 2(PPV)
    Winner vs winner

    OTHER SIDE OF THE TOURNAMENT

    Round 1(HBO or Showtime)
    Angulo vs Kirkland 2
    Molina vs Thurman

    Round 2(HBO or Showtime)
    Winner vs winner

The last fight could be a PPV event if Cotto or Canelo and win out.
What do you think, and how do you see this tourney going?

IMO it'd be even more entertaining at 147 seeing how stacked it is now

    Marquez
    Bradley
    Alexander
    Broner
    Maidana
    Pacquiao
    Guerrero
    Thurman
    Porter
    Cano
    Brook
    Karass
    Abregu
    Berto
    Ortiz
    Judah
    Malignaggi

the guys that have talked about a move up, Garcia, Rios, Alvarado, Matthysse, Provodnikov,

also young guys like Heerden and Vargas

i like tournaments, but there are problems with it working because of how boxing runs. just like the super six tourney. it was great, yet by the end of it, most of the original people were out with injuries or something else. with that said though, i would still be for one because i think that even if its not perfect, it creates some good fights.

Why does it have to be PPV?

It'll be even more crazy to match them up in the first round. I think the goal would be to have that as the final

financially it'd make the most sense to build them up and have them meet up either in the 2nd round or finals of the tourney

Why have a 154 tourney? The point is to have the best fights made but Golden Boy are already giving us the gems we want to see at the weight.

We've already seen Alvarez-Trout, Trout Cotto, Alvarez-Mayweather, Mayweather-Cotto, Angulo-Lara, Vanes-Lara, Angulo-Kirkland and now we have Lara-Trout on the way. Even Cotto-Rodriguez was a decent fight to make.

I'm quite happy that GBP are making the best fights happen. No tournament required.
