Default Compared to Britain, Germany, and Japan, USA Boxing scene has dull ring entrances

Did you guys notice how USA boxing like Showtime and HBO dont have flashy entrances? Not that it matters in an actual fight but alot of people care about these kinds of theatrics.. It adds to the buildup and overall entertainment..

Even in the Froch-Groves fight, they had some flashy shit going on with dark lights, fighters making a little speech on the big screen etc.. And i really loved the announcer's style..

You can see those in the Germany events too when the Klits are fighting...

I would say Japan has great fight atmospheres. Those guys really know how to animate their event..

Now USA Boxing on the other hand aint got no style whatsoever.. NO fuckin pizazzz, no character..Same old Michael buffer and lennon Jr is getting old we need something new..

    What are your thoughts?

I'd imagine that the atmosphere at big fights in the UK is a lot cooler, I don't really care about ring entrances or anything like that if I'm just watching though. I thought the pre fight to Groves-Froch was really drawn out, that bit with Johnny Nelson and the other guy in the ring talking back and forth while everyone was waiting was painfully stupid. I guess maybe they expected that "undercard" to last a bit longer.

Joe louis and Ray robinson and henry armstrong and archie moore walked to the ring, quietly and humbly, in plain trunks with a stripe. Then they put on their show.

Japan and South East Asia have GREAT fans. Even for Wrasslin' events, listen to the fans go NUTS and absolutely BONKERS when contact is made. You can't manufacture that. They really like their fights, and it shows in the in-ring performance. I really wished the West could get more chances to see Japanese and East Asian fights- mma, boxing and kick-boxing.

Europe loves the theatrics, period. They savour these moments. America isn't so caught up in it, nor ceremony in any event. Didn't the USA trounce the Brits in the American Revolution for the same thing?

Wish it was like that now, I get tired of the drawn out entrances,

Glad to see some like minded people on this. I love the plain Jane walks and the guys that forget the frills. Axe the long drawn out walks and then dump the anthems. Easily enough time saved to bring back 15 round title fights.

I remember prince naseem had some weird entrances in the u.s.a, the halloween one, that magic carpet one and the worst enterance I've ever seen against Kevin kelly in new York where he was dancing behind a screen for 20 mins, the crowed even got well pissed off, I think he's the reason the USA have stopped drawn out entertances, they would rather have more time for adverts

The Germans have the worst entrance music ever, some bad playing rock music from 80's and dragging out the fight further with national anthems of the fighters, ref, judges and the bell ringer.
Do not let success go to your head and do not let failure get to your heart.

Fifteen rounds is always on your mind.
I wonder how many of today's fighters would say yes to 15 round fights, and how boring/slow the middle rounds would be?
There would be a different pace in the middle rounds for sure with more clinching, circling, and avoiding exchanges, in my opinion.
It would be hard to bring 15 rounds back from the fighter safety angle too, you would hear from everyone about that!
I'm not really disagreeing with you, I just can't see it coming back.

How about keeping 12 rounds and cutting the the rest period to 45 seconds.
How about two minute rounds? with 30 seconds between rounds? HAHAHA! Just rambling.

Some of Naseem's entrances where he danced behind a screen for 10 minutes were atrocious.

To be fair I enjoyed Hamed's dancing and prancing before the MAB fight , I also enjoyed him getting twatted and having his ass handed to him.
    He was a prick.
