Default Will Stevenson Avoid Kovalev Now?

It'll be interesting to see. He was lined up to face Fonfara on HBO and Kovalev is facing Agnew. Then Stevenson signed with Haymon. Does that mean no more Kovalev fight in the fall?

Based on this market its safe to say that neither punchers handlers want them to meet until they have milked whats out and about.

Stevenson himself gives the impression that he'll fight anyone, whether his handlers will let him is another story all together

The last I saw was Stevenson calling Kovalev a nobody ordinary slugger and saying he had a weak chin...

Then I remember only one of them has been left flat on the canvas by a journeyman and his name wasn't Kovalev.

    I don't think Stevenson wants any part of this guy....1) 2) 3)

I wouldn't be amazed if Stevenson went to Showtime and ended up fighting Hopkins and other Haymon guys like Shumenov. Don't GBP have a couple of beatable light heavies too, Erdei is GBP now right? Haymon will definitely be holding this over HBO's head in any negotiations with them at the very least.

Kovalev is the better fighter, I hope they do fight soon and not wait until it is too late.

His interview after the Bellew fight sounded like Kov wasn't even on his radar. Doubt he has much interest in fighting him at this stage

Stevenson is a late bloomer and time isnt on his side so I understand he wants maximize his purse. He wants to get paid and the likes of hopkins and froch will bring a lot more than kovalev.. plus kovalev is the hardest opponent of all the three so business wise, I understand..

I do too. From a fan's perspective though, it's the best fight out there at light heavyweight.

Let him fight a new and improved chad dawson?!

    Stevenson wont duck kovalev.

    Early days yet.

Nathan was not a stepping stone to anything.

Ran off to crusierweight holding bellews hand.

Throw enzo mac in with kovalev he likes to take punishment!
