Ahh the fight for the most prestigious of titles, the WBC 'Silver' title. For my 2 cents I reckon it'll be a bit of a boring fight, I'm not a fan of Tackam's style at all and I think Tony the Tiger will win on points. And who knows, he might carry on his European tour that he's been on for the last year and a bit.

This is a good matchup, Thompson should win by UD or late stoppage, but Takam is a goer, he'll try his heart out in the ring.


I think both Tony Thompson and Carlos Takam have a lot left to offer the division. Thompson vs Joshua should be on the horizon.

I agree, good luck to Thompson. There are many worse fighters than him around in his division and he deserves the chance to earn his living plying his trade. Like El Kabong says he is a good test for any up and coming prospect.

Good for Thompson, you can't knock the guy. He's one of the only veteran HW's who is still a consummate pro and out gunning for big fights. Nobody needs to see him fight Wlad again obviously, but anyone else is in pretty deep with the guy imo, he can still be at the very least a stern gatekeeper.

Gotta hand it to the ol geezer. We have our ears filled daily on what the youngest baddest American heavy "might" do, and Tony is just steady plugging away on a higher level, country hopping and arguably hitting a peak at 40. They can take the Silver belt and grind it into fairy dust for all I care but its an decent match. Thompson should boil it down and take a decision, but I'd bring a food taster along if I were him
