one more question, have you ever boxed before...if you haven't then

Join a boxing Gym- Learn the basics of boxing, the stance, the jab etc.
Start jogging in the morning- 2 to 3 miles
Do bodyweight exercises- Pushups, situps, pullups, try different variations

You could also buy a punching bag to practice combinations

if you are new to boxing no trainer worth his salt is going to throw you into any big tourny like that.

Take this advice. Start slow. Drop weight slow. Build your strength and endurance. Most of all your muscle reflexes and that can only come one way....over time and 1000's or repititans. (spelled wrong).

Trust me...you will get all the fighting you can handle right now by sparring. Patience is key in this game.

Don't lift any heavy weights. Your goal at your weight is speed and fluidy of movement and being accurant with your blows and movements. Once your trainer shows you how to throw punches and pivot your weight from foot to foot your blows will be plenty powerful.

Golden Gloves is a pretty lofty goal for someone with your boxing experience and fitness level. Seriously, your only hope is if you are a "natural" and that's a rare thing. With your size, good punching technique will have you hitting like a freight train in no time, but connecting will be a problem.

Maybe you should spend some time working on technique and fitness and get more experience before entering Golden Gloves.

    Hot damn! 300 lbs

you need to do some cardio, like Running, Skipping and once you join the gym bag work, but then once you get into the gym you will be doing the right exercises anyway.

hmmm. everyones saying lose weight, but i have a feeling it could work to your advantage...
start fitness training. really, and i mean really push yourself to the limits. run as far and as fast as you can every day. do pushups, situps, the whole thing.
try and eat properly if you dont already. eat the same amount, but in smaller amounts and more frequently. do alot of weights, working out all aspects of your body, legs included.

you got alot of weight to throw behind punches, and at your size id guess you got a long reach. cause youll be less mobile when you fight, youll need to learn how to adopt your style. i suggest a "domination" stratergy. try and keep in the middle of the ring, and every time an opponent tries to advance into you, or move you about throw one of your 300lb straight punches into them. adopt a counter punching method, so the second they make a move you can rain down on them like a falling house.

however, with your weight youll also gonna have alot of "bully power" youll be able to physically push and shunt people where you want them to go, and force of your shots can be used to your advantage

sit ups, crunches, leg raises...other abe exercises. Push ups, squats. throw jabs... keep a log of how many you throw and always try to throw more.....practice balance in yor movement and shifting your weight from foot to foot.

What ever you do dont do any home sparring or fighting. Make sure you eat enough of the right foods so your body heals and get enough rest.

try to take notice of things you do...shadow box in front of a mirror if you have one....notuce if you drop your hands, or leave your jaw wide open after throwing punches. Bad habits in practice equals bad habits in actual fights.

Keep a good mental attitude, train hard, eat right, and rest enough and you will be fine. Most of all stay in the gym and SPAR. No amount of exercise will give you muscle reflexes..that only comes from sparring pver and over and ovet and over.

    Keep the faith my man.

    Just skip rope heaps.
Shadow box  moving around behind your punches all the time.
Go for runs up a beach preferably.
