Default Andre berto and his flaws..

He is a former world champion.

He can be fast and strong.

But what is it that made andre loose against victor ortiz (who is known as a quitter) and robert the ghost (who is good warrior)

Were there any excuses at the time after he lost these fights or was it just as simple as he wasn't as good as these guys on the night.

What are bertos strengths and weaknesses?

How could he ever beat floyd if you were his trainer?

Berto is so physically gifted but he's always been so undisciplined in the way he fights: getting into brawls when he should back up and reset and throwing for the fences and blowing himself out.

I think he has one of the best uppercuts in the business and a sweet left hook. Problem is, those aren't the punches that find Floyd's chin.

He has good power but I don't consider him a big banger. He needs to land in volume and that's not something he's going to do against Floyd.

I hate to say it but Berto lacks heart. He has all the gifts he needs to be and stay a champion but he gets discouraged. Not quickly or easily but you can see the determination slipping away when things stop going his way. Then he starts looking for a way out, in my opinion!

Berto is fast, but I don't think speed by itself makes someone a good boxer. However, fans are often mystified by it and assume that a fast boxer is automatically good. I fall victim to this too. If we're disecting him, his technique and defense is only so-so and he doesn't know how to adjust. Ortiz and Guerrero are only OK. They're not great. If you really think about it, who has Berto beat that was anything above good?

By the way, this is all relative. He's still a professional boxer that made a lot of money plying his trade. That's remarkable by itself.

His flaw is his shoulder...he seems a little to muscle bound, if he wasn't so muscular he might have a little more endurance.

He fights in a chin first, undisciplined manner and neglects his defense. Against Guererro is eyes and face became extremely swollen early and he paid the price. Because he muscles his punches and the other guy he has torn tendons in his biceps and shoulder on a few occasions. Andre is a face first, not durable guy who neglects defense and is on the decline. Easiest fight for Floyd in other words...

Andre Berto Sucks. he is an emberrasment to watch in the boxing ring. Before he was exciting and force i will say but watching him now try to fight in a philly stance is most emerrasing thing ever. He looks like the fighters in Fight Night round 2 who put there arm in a 90 degree angle.

Well at least he's trying to evolve his style and rekindle his career. Obviously what he was doing before wasn't working anymore and he needed to reinvent himself.

I thought he looked real good in his last few fights since hiring Virgil Hunter. Tony Morgan didn't know how to sculpt this amazing physical talent into a true technician (too busy selling meth apparently). Broner is in the same category IMO, a superb physical talent who's being handled by guys who have no idea how to handle him. You need the right guy in your corner and teaching you.

Funny thing about Berto too is that he grew up in a martial arts family. His brother Edson is an MMA fighter and so is his sister Revelina. His dad Dieuseul actually fought in UFC 10.

I still don't see floyd going for the ko.

Its safety first as a win is a win.

Smart but will be boring for the majority.

Berto has an uppercut on him but he won't be close enough to use it.

Ever look up his dad's record?

It's a bit disappointing for such a fearsome looking man.

Yeah his dad and his brother weren't great MMA fighters by any stretch.

Berto is shot, he has suffered some serious injuries, been beaten by decent fighters and is been vulnerable in his last few fights so perfect for Floyd.

It seems most muscular guys IMO don't have an accurate jab, kinda looping like.
For me his biggest flaw is his genetic makeup (size & reach)
I think he stays in fights because he (does) have so much heart.

    5'6 68 inch reach
Floyd listed at 5'8 72 inch reach is an example that Berto doesn't have reach.

If boxrec has it accurate: Karass 72 inch reach Guerreroo 70 inch reach Ortiz 70 inch reach All over 5'8.

To me his life and death win over Collazo was also based on Luis using his superior reach.
All's lost! Everything's going to shit!

What I have seen of him, he has real bad feet. Nobody ever taught him how to fight.
