Default Deontay Wilder vs Johann Duhaupas on NBC

Does anyone really care Wilder and his promotion have been very underwhelming to me. Has he done any network interviews..shook hands with any politicians or been on a late night talk show? All this time waiting for an "American" heavyweight Champion to make some noise and we get Wilder retreating to the comfy confines of Alabama facing the obscure and the unranked. Even the geezer Shannon Briggs was able to make headlines and the local news with that massive gathering of U.S heavyweights a few weeks ago Anyway, this kicks off in at 7:30 pm here and lets hope Duhaupas can and will make a fight of it. Anyone see his fight with Charr?

Some decent undefeated prospects on undercard as Dominic Breazeale 15-0 fights Fred Kassi 18-3-1 and Charles Martin 21-0-1 takes on Vincente Sandez 15-4.

Would Wilder fit into a fiat ?

I watched the first half of it on youtube a while ago, and it was very uniteresting, they took turns in stepping forward and throwing a few punches into the guard of the other guy, it bored me so i turned it off :S.. Charr looked slower and less lively than he did before povetkin ko'd him and duhaupass looked solid but nothing special at all.. Don't think wilder will have too hard a time hitting him.. I guess if wilder turns up hungover or drunk he could lose :S

    What an embarrassing fight.

These are the type that make you hope for upsets, no matter WHO the champ is

Its great to have a heavyweight title fight on 'free' network tv...but Haymon is beginning to turn out some seriously poor matches for his heavy favorites. I think Kassi and Breazeale could be entertaining.

All things go according to plan we hope Wilder will meet Povetkin as his mandatory, but if a body allows to non ranked guys to fight for trinket why should we believe they'll hold Wilder a timeline or force it?

I think kassi would have been a better opponent for wilder for tonight, if he(or more accurately his handlers) don't want to fight povetkin right away he might as well take on a tricky opponent who could give him problems which would be good experience for wilder, instead they have gone with the line "he's tall and has never been stopped" :S....... Kassi is a similar size to povetkin who is meant to be next for wilder but I suspect wilders teams plan is to sidestep povetkin and cash out by fighting wladimir after this.... that is if wladimir ever recovers from the shock of seeing tyson fury dressed as batman :Stha

come to think of it kassi is coming off a draw and a loss, would have been hard to sell that to even the wbc :S but still i think a guy like him is who wilder should have chosen for this fight

Breazeale really trying to talk it up here and show some personality. Really wonder if he's just another Calvin Brock though, he is not hard to miss, if Kassi can stay under him this could be very interesting.

Kassi might catch him if he keeps backing straight up!

Kassi is doing okay so far, despite the size disadvantage.

Fighting Kassi has to make a guy feel bipolar, awkward ugly but makes it work with constant shifts at the waist. Crosses himself, falls over and half the time gives the look of being hit then fires back from angels in another stance. Have it 1-1

Breazeale has zero idea when on the ropes

2-2 on this end. Breazeale has the head movement of a mannequin, he is being sniped with tricky junk shots in 5th. Felt like a subtle tide shift that one

    3-2 Kassi

I have 3-2 to breazeale or however you spell it :S he is so much taller but kassi is pretty tricky and is landed some nice punches every so often

Damn, you could cook breakfast in enough time to get out of the way of Breazeales shots.

Oddly 4-2 Kassi. He's being moved around but he's doing more of what he wants in there, really shining a light on Breazeale defensive gaps and single gear.

    4-3 Kassi
