    Default Andre Ward popular misinformation

Since Froch has recently said nobody wants to watch Ward and GGG said the same because neither wants to fight him it seems like a good time to point out the truth. Ward was drawing 1.3 and 1.2 million on HBO, similar numbers to the HBO darling GGG. This is our sport now, lie until people believe the lie. Just keep repeating it because the truth is what fans want to believe. Just like team Pac did for years others will do. But,like then, the factual numbers don't lie. Ward did good numbers, that is a fact. Watch for the excuses why the facts don't matter to follow....

Not challenging you or the numbers, mind you.

It just seems odd that for those numbers he's not in either HBO or showtimes stable of fighters now. He had all the straps, is unbeaten, beat the light heavy champ (*boiled down)... no longer injured and cleared up his contract disputes... and he's fighting on BET in a variety show of sorts with music. Somethings gotta be up...

    - No marketable competition for him at his weight, maybe? But GGG is ripping through unworthy opponents according to most so he'd be in the same situation.
    - The stables of each network is too big to fit one more?
    - Maybe his representation wants too much?

I'm not sure what the reason is....Just sayin'...
They want your @$$ beat because upsets make news. News brings about excitement, excitement brings about ratings. The objective is to bring you up to the tower and tear your @$$ down. And if you don't believe that, you're crazy.

I don't believe GGG doesn't want to fight him. I don't think Ward wants it right now. He's been out for 2 years. He's fighting Paul Smith ffs. A guy Groves iced in 2 rounds. I think Andre is a great fighter but he was asked by HBO if he wanted Golovkin and he said "not yet". Golovkin said "ok". I can understand Ward saying that as he needs to shake the rust off.

When you consider Froch-Groves 2 did 1 million and Froch-Kessler 2 did 1.2 million, both in the UK and likely got next to 0 publicity in the USA, you can understand what he means.

I aint arguing about it, just comparing.

I have never and will never buy an Andre Ward fight, far too boring.

And i don't just say that to sound strong willed, the first and only PBF fight I ever paid for was vs Pac-man and that was due to the same reasons.

Truthfully, I don't enjoy watching Ward do his thing in the ring. I'm not arguing about his popularity, numbers, or anything else--I just don't get excited about his fights.

Golovkins thoughts on Ward. I hope too much wasn't lost in translation because this is a great response.

That's interesting. I didn't know that he got that many viewers. Fortunately for him, he's right in the middle of two monsters (ggg and kov) which could really help him become the top p4p guy.

Golovkin - taking off the nice guy mask, and it is a mask, he was a nasty little street fighter as a teenager beating the shit out of older guys that his 2 older brother told him to fight.
I'm dying to see Golovkin in a war so we can see his nasty side come out 😊

Ha! Brilliant. Ward is so deluded that he has fallen for his own reflection. The bollocks that some fans, and now fighters it seems speak about Golovkin is a joke. Yes there is some hyperbole on the other side and GGG may not turn out to be the ATG that he looks like having the potential to be, but he has never come across as somebody happy to avoid a challenge.

Nice to hear Golovkin drop the humble nice guy bit to vent his frustration for once. I didn't think Ward could make him self seem more of a twat than he already comes across as, but bingo, nice one Andre, you managed it.

Hahaha I'm glad to see GGG take the good guy mask off. He should be calling these guys pussies and talking big shit so they can no longer avoid him.

While he's at it he should tell Cotto to grow some balls and either defend his belt against the TRUE #1 MW or drop it and keep his ass down at 154.

Btw Wards fight is on BET. In Canada that's like putting your fight on Much Music. And he's going head to head really with David and Ndam as well as Broner/Porter. Make sure to post the numbers later Ron.

For months on end Froch was telling people how he really wanted to fight Ward again in England because he knew he could beat him. He said it was one of the only fights he could get motivated for and it would be a huge event, the two best supermiddles blah blah. Now that Ward is back in business Froch is back to ducking yet another fighter and bullshitting his way out a Ward rematch.

He can't be arsed training anymore. He wants to retire but his ego won't let him because he desperately wants to keep his name relevant and wants to talk about knocking out Groves in front of 80,000 people at Wembley.
