Re: Is the Cotto vs Canelo fight overrated?
Label me a cynic, but the ready for anything .... he boxes, we out box... he slugs we outslug sounds like more talk up from cotto (mostly roach). I think Cotto knows hes been in too many wars to jump feet first into the trenches and start swinging away. Especially with a kid who has the fraction of the mileage. He'll start looking his age after 3 to 4 rounds of that.
Considering Canelos habit for slow starts (sans kirkland) I think cotto will look to come out, establish the jab and try catch canelo early maybe with a counter like he did martinez and put canelo mentally behind the 8 ball, and build a lead. Save some for the middle rounds for a canelo surge and swing with him for a a round and then try to finish smart. So I don't think this will be a brawl for it all that a lot of people are expecting. For canelo, this might be like the trout fight. Cotto will have more pop but he'll have to be smart in choosing when to sit down his punches to use it. I also think his legs get heavier than trouts near the end. If Canelo floors it from start to finish and grinds him down, i think it will be enough.
They want your @$$ beat because upsets make news. News brings about excitement, excitement brings about ratings. The objective is to bring you up to the tower and tear your @$$ down. And if you don't believe that, you're crazy.
