Default Is there proper closure over the Brook fight with Golovkin?

I think there must be as Brook didnt go after the rematch but I think there isn't - Brook had his eye fucked up (Golovkins power of course) but I thought he was doing ok until round 3

He reacted really badly to that and was clearly not taking it well - if he had not been cut - would you say there is sufficient closure to say Golovkin would of definitely knocked him out mid rounds? Not in my mind at least -

I'd watch a re match personally - and think Brook has a better shot than BJS - although that not saying much lol

You could say the same thing about Lennox vs vitali...something caused those cuts and bleeding to a point where it had to be stopped.

GGG or Lennox were not tickling there opponents...their fists, power and accurate punches caused the fight to stop..simple

    They will be no rematch..ever.

I'm pretty sure both fighters don't want a rematch and neither do most fans.

Not to bash a guy when he's down because Brook is a fantastic talent and look forward to a him at 147-154 but to me there was only two ways that was going to end, Golovkin via breakdown or Brook slicing him open with a legal punch. The eye was icing on the cake as whenever Golovkin applied with volume Brook was absorbing damage upstairs and downstairs. Brook has his entire future ahead and other than his bank account this fight did him very little favors.

This one is more accurate. The guys who put this together analyse every punch thrown in a video replay.

Lol, huh? Kell BRook was fucked by the time his corner threw the towel in, he had fought valiantly but at a pace he couldn't keep up with at the weight, it's pretty clear that was the consensus in his corner as well. I don't want to knock Kell as he obviously did his best, but I really don't feel like he and his camp were remotely confident of winning the fight, and I think the towel being thrown in may have even been agreed upon well beforehand. What else, did he actually intend to KO GGG in 3-4 rounds? They all knew that there was no downside for him as long as he made it an exciting fight and then "went out on his shield". Land some big punches and then have the towel thrown in before he got seriously hurt. He get's a huge payday, more prospects than he had beforehand and zero credibility lost at 147 or 54.

I thought the injury ended the fight early

I think it would have gone the same way but we were robbed of at least a few more rounds

Oakleyno1, you are a promoters dream.

From the moment this fight was signed everyone knew GGG would stop him in 6/7 rounds. The eye changed it to stopping him in 5. Everyone knew how this fight would go, even Brook and his corner.

Watched the fight again last night had ggg wining 3 rounds but that's including the 5th so brook took two rounds. Also that knock down was legit and should of been scored for ggg saying all that I wasn't impressed with brook felt as if when the going got tough he just didn't want to know, think it was the 3rd round he kept tapping his eye as to say look everyone my poor eye is sore lol man the fuck up and get on with it he's not the 1st to fight with a broken eye socket and he won't be the last and what really disappointed me was his reaction when that towel came in absolutely no desire to carry on.

When the towel went in Brook was motioning GGG on, he even said "come on then," then turned to Ingle with a shocked looked on his face and stuck his arms out as if to say "Why?"

Hardly the actions of someone bumming it.

He was fucked at that point and was looking for an escape well before that, tapping at his eye and looking to Ingle for help. Loads of fighters smile or wave the other guy on when they're in trouble out of fighting instinct and loads give the WTF face when the ref or a towel stops things.
Brook was game but once he felt 3Gs power he realised he was gonna take a beating.
And scorecards mean fuck all when you can dish out punishment like that.
The reason Ingle got the towel out was because Brook was starting to take a bad beating and was tgrowing nothing back just rolling about on the ropes.

No way there will be a rematch and no need either. Everyone knows its a missmatch.
Khan looked better than Brook against Canelo but when the power hits home the missmatch is revealed.

Brook was acting and they planned that to safe face. Brook took the money and lived to fight another day.

There is no need to a rematch. Next you will be asking if Canelo v Khan 2 should happen.
