Can someone tell some good ways to train the jab ?
Make it more accurate and more snap on it.

find your range when you are hitting the heavybag. If you are proper distance from the bag, when you snap a jab, the bag should barely move. Snap out the jab turning your fist over so your knuckles are horizontal, bring it right back to your original stance without letting your elbow swing out and without dropping your jab. Always keep your elbows tucked. When you throw the jab make sure your keeping everything tight, and your right hand up. Some people slingshot their right hand when the throw a jab. That is a very bad habit cause then your vulnerable to left hooks. Sorry if this is confusing but hope it answers your question.![]()

Its about proper technique. The jab should start with a sharp 1/4 turn of the hips, then the left shoulder to the center-line of the body. The shoulder drives the arm to full extension....
The snap in the punch comes from keeping the elbow to the bottom until the end when you rotate the fist inward- go from thumbs up to palm down. The key is to let the shoulder drive it out and let it retract as the shoulder "recoils"; doneproperly and you won't "drop" your jab.
This all leaves a gang of questions about range, purpose behind your jab and so on
That is right what he said but if u don't have a bag practice in front of a mirror. Do it in slow motion so u can see every movement u make till u get it down. That is how I waz told to do it by my trainer when I first started boxing.Originally Posted by BoomBoom
