    Default BYRD IS HUGELY OVER-RATED

He hasnt beat any top heavyweight in a convincing, champion like manner. Here are the facts:
1.He got by an ancient Holyfield, but definately lost rounds to him in the process.
    2. He barely got by McCline who is an ok hevyweight at best.
    3. He was losing to the Vitali, when Vitali defeated himself
    4. He couldnt manage to handily outbox the hard hitting, but outboxable Tua.
    5. He took a beating from Wlad
    6. He took a beating fron Ike
    7. He should have lost that fight against to a past his prime Golata
And 8. Well...Williamson (which I wont entirely hold against him)

So I say it again, Byrd is highly overrated

If Wladimir wins, I don't think it'd be right to say Byrd was overrated.

It only shows how good Wladimir is.

I don't like Byrd, but I wouldn't say he's overrated. His style, and him being more like a cruiser, makes it easier for him to beat alot of the non-mobile, big heavies. Against a naturaly bigger man, that can move, hegets beat. I think he is getting older, and his speed is slowing, which will be his demise. Golotta did get robbed in that fight though.

Im not saying hes a bad fighter, but he doesnt stand out in the weak division. A champion would shine though a division as weak as the Heavyweight division. I honestly believe that him and Ruiz are practically on the same level. Rahman too. its just the way i see it. None can be counted on. Every one of the top guys in the division have one thing in common, they do just enough to win or not enough to win. Ill exclude Wlad and Peter from that though

I don't see him standing out, but like I said, IMO he's more of a cruiser than a heavy. And to actually beat some top heavies and compete with the rest deserves a little credit. James Toney gets a little, Roy got some credit. I honestly never thought Byrd could be undisputed champ, but he does deserve some credit. I think Vlad will beat him again, but against Rahman or Toney, I make Byrd a favorite.

I'd like to see Vlad fight Tua. Not saying he would lose, but that would be nice.

I got a feeling that Tua wont fight again. I dont think he has the drive anymore. Wlad way to tall for him. It would look stranger than Tyson-McBride

Tua just disappoints me. Being able to beat anyone out there, but being able to lose to anyone out there at the same time is f**ked up.

Why don't you give him credit for beating a David Tua who came in lighter then he ever had before beating Rahman the first time. It was the lightest he'd been and it wasn't the James Toney Tua that fought Lennox either. Why does Byrd get no credit? everyone is so quick to discredit a potential Wladimer win by calling Chris overrated. He isn't overrated if he loses and he isn't underrated if he wins, he just "is"

    I agree. Here's what I said before.

Everyone {including me}, wants to see a dominant heavy, but Byrd gets credit for what he has done. And, if he wins, good for him, but everyone will discredit the win, by saying, Vlad was washed up. I still think Vlad is going to win though.

If Wladimer wins then Byrd was overrated. If Byrd wins, Wlad was over the hill, was down three times against an untested Sam Peter and it should have been seen coming.

    Byrd doesn't win either way.

But if Wladimer wins, then Wladimer is the dominant Heavyweight we have all been searching for?

I say, it just don't make sense.

byrd gets dissed a lot, but he's probably the most consistent heavyweight out there....and i seriously think wlad is going to have his hands full...
