Joe would not be nearly as effective against another southpaw. Id pick Winky by close decision in this one.

Good point...but I don't know how well Winky could hang with that much weight on his shoulders.

Calzaghe gets it, not for being a better boxer but like I've said... he would simply be too big for Winky Wright.

True. Id rather see Winky stay at Middleweight. Hopefully he beats Jermaine and makes a couple title defenses and retires. The man has been in the game a loooong time now and deserves to retire and go down as a great Middleweight. He doesnt seem to have trouble making weight or anything and a Middleweigh there are more good fights for him

    Agreed.

I want to see him beat Taylor too...& I also go back & forth on whether or not he has enough left in him to take a hiding from Jermain.

Winky's only been in about two or three real wars...he's out smarted everyone that he's faced outside of about two people...Taylor's power could be a factor if he does establish the jab & returns with that crunching power that he used so well prior to the Hopkins fights.

Surely Jermain has the abilities...it's going to actually boil down to WInky being effective against a true 160lber with power. Tito had power & the skills...but he was'nt an established man at 160, IWO.

Just the opposite of Soliman...skills & output...no power but he was established at 160.

Taylor, IWO, has only faced two real 160lbers of noteworthiness...maybe that will even it out.

    Just not sure.

Doesn't Winky naturally walk around about 170-175? Usually fighting at your walk around weight, but in tip top shape is the when your most effective I think personally.

back. And your right that Taylor is the best Middleweight he will have fought to date. I just think Winky is too smart and experieced for him. And experience is the difference. Hell, if B-Hop was a few years younger when he fought taylor i dont think it would have even been close based on experience ans skill alone.

Has Wright ever fought a very technically skilled fighter? He missed Oscar Dela Hoya, Forrester, and Bernard Hopkins... He got/is getting Mosley, Trinidad, Taylor who are all technically flawed... I always thought Winky would have big problems with guys as good as him in terms of technique because his style realies on him being so much superior than his opponent as a technically.

If Mosley and Soliman hurt Winky then the bigger and better Joe and bigger and stronger Jermain will hurt him a whole lot more.
