Former IBC super cruiserweight champion, Tue Bjorn Thomsen from Denmark, was killed Saturday night. According to the police and several media he was stabbed with a knife at a pub in Copenhagen Saturday night. The case is still under investigation. Tue Bjorn Thomsen, who was signed by Team Palle in 1997, had 24 fights as a pro, and won the IBC super cruiser title in 2000 beating former WBA champ Nate Miller. He retained his title when he outpointed Rob Calloway. His last fight in October 2002 was stopped in the opening round due to a cut at Thomsen, at was declared a technical draw. As a pro he compiled a total record of 22-1-1 (9). Before turning pro he won the bronce medal at the 1997 World Amateur Championships. Tue Bjorn Thomsen was 33 years old.
