    Default oh dang

i just got back from my first day of boxing at my local gym i signed up for. ive done football and other sports for the highschool but i have got to say that im the most worn out i have been in a long long while. it is really intense but i loved every minute of it.

my trainer pointed out 3 things that i need to work on. 1. footwork (moving around and keeping knees bent with weight on the right feet.) 2. making my jabs more of a snap instead of putting all my muscle into it. 3. keeping my hands above my face.

any things you guys know to help me with this stuff?

    thanks

what you must do (and now in this era more than ever) is strive to learn the sport on your own and not only under the hand of your trainer. trainers today know how to teach the sport about as much i know how to make an atom bomb. i know i dont know the chap but it is always wise to seek as much wisdom of the sport as you can. read the books and watch the tapes. the more information you take in, the harder you are to beat. sadly, many boxers dont take this burden upon themselves and leave their destiny entirely in the hands of a trainer who may be a complete fool. as a result the blind lead the blind and suddenly here you have the story of boxing for the last 60-70 years or so. the old ways are dead and you wont learn them from today's trainers. but you can disover them on your own, if you look that is.

Yeah, the information on those videos most be really great, because before my first session with my trainer I watched these videos and studied and learned them. Once I got it down, I went off to the session and he was amazed that I had just learned that from the internet. He couldnt believe I had never had a lesson in my life except from the computer. So, yes, I would check out those videos, great information.

yeah, I tried to play them to see what good stuff they had in them and the things wont even play. You click the play button and it sits there for a second then it automatically goes to the stop button. I dont know why its doing that.
