Is Baldomir still a journeyman if he beats Gatti? Why is he still called a journeyman if he beat Judah?
Margarito has to be one of my top 10 favorite fighters though!! I would love to see him get his shot. Just not against the style of Mayweather. He would have a better chance against a style like Hattons. Have those two square off(if Hatton beats Collazo) and the winner of Hatton Margarito fights PBF.
I don't know about you.
But if Margarito fights Floyd and loses..we may never hear from him for a long while.
Personally.. I want to see him fight Hatton before he fights Floyd.
If Ricky and Antonio go at it. I'd love to see that fight. Pretty damn good fight.

No arguments there. I understand where your coming from. But if Margarito loses, then he loses. He won't be forgotten that much. Mayweather beat Henry Brussels and he's rutinely on Telefutura now. Margarito may not be on HBO immediately after the fight. But it also can be those losses, where he actually gains from losing.
But Margarito's style is so entertaining, he'll get exposure plenty of time afterwards. And if he disappears from the center of the earth, hell if no one ever sees him ever again... he came up from NOTHING and made it this far, I think he'll be happy he made it this far. 15 years old, married, boxing professional....
it's a freagin' miracle he's made it this far. With boxing being as hard and dirty as it is, Margarito is a success story already. So lets complete the story, or maybe even begin the best chapter of the story, and get "pound-for-pound king" Floyd Mayweather to get in the ropes with Antonio "Bomber" Margarito.
By the way, check out what Box Rec has to say about the offer to Mayweather.
"Bob Arum, Promoter of both Antonio Margarito and Floyd Mayweather Jr., made an $8 million+ offer to Floyd for a fight against Margarito for the WBO title."
