Look for gyms or trainers in your area and speak with them. The info on GG on the net is limited. The boxing trainers in you area will know about it. It's going on right now. You can shoot for next year if you are just getting started.

i'm almost positive you need a trainer to compete ...but you wont really have much of a chance winning w/ out training w/ a trainer

You need a trainer in your corner. You can't fight with out a licensed trainer.

you need to get to a gym and they should be able to give all the paper work to get a book and insurance.

you need a boxing book with all your info and picture its like a passport and you need boxing insurance

while your there ask if they would be willing to train you or if you could join someones team

you need to find out the president of your areas number. start by contacting USA Boxing on the internet to get their number and call them to find the number for your area. Many states have 2 or more organizations within them so this is important. Next you will need to get a list from the President in this area for gyms and their coaches. You and your coach must both be registered with USA BOXING. The main number for USA BOXING is 719-866-4506 also the website is www.usaboxing.org click on the membership icon and it will take you to a page that has all the listings of the associations in each of the states. this should get you on you're path...keep punching!
It feels good to be back home.
