    Default The X-Files

What a brilliant TV series that was.

I just received the complete X-Files DVD box set in the post. 61 discs, all 9 seasons and the first movie. Just watched two episodes there, and it was perfection of the highest order. The chemistry between Mulder and Scully is unmatched and the writing and story lines were absolutely top drawer, Chris Carter is a genius.
The intro music still sends chills down my spine!

Check out this episode, in my opinion one of the best; 'Clyde Bruckman's Final Repose' starring the late great, Peter Boyle.

A brilliant story of fate vs. choice, what is pre-determined and what makes people act the way they do. Perfection!
(Sorry about the Chinese subs, it was the only link I could find!)

Anyone else a fan of the X-Files on here?

I love the X-Files. I've been wanting to pick up the complete set like you, but haven't gotten around to it yet.

    I love the theme music.

    Some of my favorites.....

Squeeze and Tooms - which was in the first season, so you should be watching those two soon. It's about a guy named Tooms who needs to eat human livers to live. He's a mutant that has been living for I think about a 100 years or so. The guy who plays Tooms is the guy who played Percy in The Green Mile.

Humbug - is the one about killings in a travelling circus/freak show. The local sheriff used to be part of the show, he was Jim Jim the dog faced boy.

Home - Which is the one about the inbreeding family. That one is disturbing as hell, but that's what makes it so good.

One of my all time favs is - Jose Chungs 'From Outer Space', with Charles Nelson Reilly in it. It's about two teenagers that were supposedly abducted by Aliens. There's a good amount of humor in this one, and I guess that's why I liked it so much.

Damn, I could go on an on, but I won't.

    I just love the show.

I love all the episodes you just mentioned!

Tooms was one of the creepiest characters ever to appear on the show in my opinion, the eyes...

'Home' was disturbing, you're right. I think it was the only episode Rated MA and Fox didn't show it again for years after its original airing.

I need to catch up on 'Jose Chung's from outer space' and 'Humbug.' I remember 'JCFOS' was crazy and reminded me of indie Sci-Fi movies when I first saw it.

I just watched 'Triangle,' the episode where Mulder accidentally travels back in time to the beginning of World War 2 (1939) after boarding a ship that spontaneously re-appeared around the Bermuda Triangle. I love how they edited it in such a way that makes it appear that there are uninterrupted continuous scenes of action, and not to mention the insane split-screen scene near the end where present day Scully passes by Mulder and the scientist.

I'm going to be addicted to this for weeks to come now, feel so nostalgic!

Yeah, I definitely need to pick this up, because there are so many great episodes, that it's hard to remember them all.

And it's been awhile since I have watched them.

I do have to say, I was a bit disappointed in the movie that they made last year. It was good, but I thought it could have been better.

Classic show. I had a marathon x-files holiday and watched the series through from 1-9.

T2-had a good part though at the time I know the show took a lot of flack when Duchovny left.

There's a ton of great stand alone episodes I have to throw in Beyond the Sea because I love Brad Dourif.

Also, if you like the lone gunmen you should check out their box-set....although the networks screwed them over with adding 2 extra bodies (it didn't need) and ending them as they did.

Tell me if you think Bin Laden watched the pilot for that show

I watched that episode yesterday, it is brilliant! Mulder trying to seamlessly blend in with the man in black's family is hilarious.
The part where the wife confronts him about not loving her anymore, wanting a divorce, and not wanting to make love etc...
Mulder (As man in black); "I am not the man you once married..."
Wife; " Oh Morris, is that it? There are pills you can take for that! We can do it other ways!" *Hug*

    Mulder's facial expression is hilarious!

    And then...

Wife; Morris, you keep saying the name 'Scully' in your sleep. Who is Scully? Is she a woman?"
Mulder; "Come on honey, what woman would be called Scully?"

Moments later, there is a ring on the doorbell, wife answers to...
"Hi, I'm Dana Scully, I'd like to speak with your husband..."
*Wife slaps Mulder in the face as he smiles.*

It also brings up the running joke about Mulder watching porn, when he's sleeping on that chair & the missus comes down stairs.
