Byrd never fight hard hitters when he was champ . . . He fought avarage boxer like Oquendo and McCline . . .His strongers rival was old Golota and Williamson who have some power at his hands but nothing special . . .


And he beat Tua 1 times by UD but the he was really fast . . . If Tua would fight now VS Byrd TUa would KO him for sure ! ! !

Yes man agreed ! ! ! But Bryd was at USA since 4 years the mostly best heavyweight number 1 . . .

If Byrd would face Sanders few years ago he would see what would happen or when he would face Peter ! ! !

he did what he could he kept the title as long as he could but yes he was overated, he beat an old holyfield with no hanspeed and reflexes and really looked unimpressive doing it. He may have lost against ... I cant even remeber his name some blad dude well it was a close fight and i thought he lost but who cares hes gone now and his run at the top is over as he is gettin olde rnow

give byrd some credit. He turned himself into a decent heavyweight with excellent defense. It's just he ran into a bigger man who is gaining confidence and using his skills and power with each fight!

yeah, i say give respect to byrd. he has been in with bigger guys than himself all through his career and often times comes out on top because of his superior skills....

he has fought big punchers tua, wlad and ibeabuchi spring immediately to mind...

to understand and respect byrd, you have to realise that boxing is not just about dramatic ko's its about a smart boxer trying to overcome adversity...

byrd has a decent resume if you look at his record over the years...i have time for chris byrd...

I wonder if he could ever have made cruiser.. If so he could have been very good, but he just doesn't have the punch to bother big guys.. The thing is you can argue that he has lost his last 5 or 6 fights... THe guy has gotten a few contraversial decisions, but he had a good run considering his size. Hopefully he made some money and what not, I don't see many promising things ahead if he chooses to fight on, just because he isn't with Don King anymore and he's not entertaining.

At least byrd eraned to be a champion!! He acctutly WON the title when he become champion!! WFT has rahmn ever done? he's only around because the got ONE luckypuch against an unprepared lewis......And Rahman did not even won this belt that he holds right now!

Yes man thats the point . . . Why never he fight VS Rahman or Vitaly again (in since 2002-2003) . . . If Byrd was so sure and when he was good champ then why he dont fight any other champion like Vitaly , Wladimir,Sanders,Brewster or even Ruiz He fought avarage boxers like Williamson,Golota and McCline . . .


I dont say that Byrd was bad but he was never be great like a real champ and he never fight who is hot to the title like Wladimir . . .

He never face the hot guys since 2003 to 2006 he faced Wladimir . . .
