    Default Margarito finds an opponent?

Margarito vs. Mitchell on August 12?
    By Scoop Malinowski

WBO Welterweight champ Antonio Margarito, perhaps the most feared man in all of boxing, may make his seventh title defense against former junior welterweight champ Sharmba Mitchell on August 12 at the Thomas and Mack Center in Las Vegas.

If Margarito-Mitchell gets signed it would be a noteworthy development in the world of boxing. Because finally a marquee fighter with respectable name recognition will have stepped up to challenge Margarito.

respect to sharmba if this fight happens, he is at end of his career and could take small fights and make a dignified exit but does this fight do anything to raise margarito's stock if he wins.
"Very few people really understand what it means to be a fighter. I hate it when I hear someone say, 'That fighter doesn't have guts. I hate that, I don't care if you're a world champion six times over or a four-round fighter, to step inside that ring, you have to have guts" Oscar De La Hoya

This will do nothing for Margarito's stock if he wins. Shamba Mitchell is running on fumes, he has no gas left in the tank. And after taking major beatings by the likes of Kosta and Floyd I doubt if the public want's to see him get in the ring with Margarito. Mitchell is a fallen warrior who should call it quits.

Sharmba is the only gaitkeeper brave or desperate enough to do it.

if shamba couldn't kostya's punches at jr weltweight I don't know how he is going to take Tony's shots at welterweight

I don't think he will be able to take the shots. But if this is the only guy willing to step up and fight Tony then hell more props to him because it seems to me everyone else is avoiding him.

This is Margarito's fight to show he can stay in with a boxer. Depends which Sharmba shows up.

I agree with you 100% as far as Tony staying with a boxer. But to be honest I don't think it matters what Sharmba shows up, Tony is just way to much for him.

Well they did the same thing for Hatton, see if he can stick with a boxer and use it to see if he would be good against Mayweather. Didn't turn out the way it was planned, so we'll see what margarito does.

This is totally lopsided. I get that there's no one else available for Tony, but this still proves nothing--unless he loses and proves that he was severely overrated (but that won't happen with Sharmba). The fighter I'd really like to see against Tony, and who at this point would have more to gain than to lose, is Zab. Pity about the year's suspension--maybe they could do it in NJ, CA or CT.

Sharmba looked good in his last fight but I think Margarito's managers must have asked Colazzo and or Judah to step in the ring first.

You know what. After seeing the Hatton\Colazzo fight I would really like to see Tony fight Colazzo. I think a fight with Colazzo would be better for Tony as far being put in with a boxer. I still don't see Judah or Colazzo beating Tony though, both would give me trouble but I still see Tony beating them both.

Mitchell needs to retire, but there is always a small chance that Mitchell could possibly outbox him but it won't happen.

I am intrigued in this fight,it will get Tony a decent albeit beaten up name on his cv but better than fightin hungry, unproven guys that he gets no credit for crushing! I expect Margarito to KO him but I want to see Mitchell running for the whole fight, want him to test Margarito.
