Ricky Quiles (39-6-3, 8 KO's) 135 vs Julio Diaz (32-3, 24 KO's) 134.5
(IBF Interim lightweight title)
Any takes on this fight tonight?
Quiles, who is promoted by Warriors Boxing, said he's waited 16 years for a chance to fight for a world title and he's not going to let this opportunity pass him by. "Whatever I've gotta throw, I'm going to throw," said Quiles. "I'm not worried about the power. I've fought many guys like him, who had a lot of power. You name it, I've been there. Whatever he brings I'm ready for it mentally, physically and spiritually. You're gonna be in a war baby, I'm ready for you. I'm #1!! Remember that! Nobody's taking that from me. Nobody! I'm Showtime!"
Diaz, a former IBF lightweight champion promoted by Sycuan Ringside Promotions, said he is as solid as a rock and vowed he'll be victorious. "I know Quiles' situation," he stated. "He's finally getting a shot. It's a sad story, but I've got a million stories that will make you cry from my side. What it all comes down to is who is champion quality material and who is not....and that's me!"
If Kidd Diaz can get past Quiles tonight, i would like to see him fight Juan Diaz from Houston, TX, the one who beat up on the Cotto brother.
