Exclusive – Andre Ward to be ‘upgraded’ by WBC; Bute swerves Froch and gets in line for WBC title | BoxRecNews

Interesting article on Boxrec says Bute will not take Froch rematch and will instead chase the Bika-Sjeloka winner for WBC Title. The winner of the Bika-Sjeloka fight will have to fight Bute within 90 days.

There are also rumors that Bute might fight Pavlik next. In either case, he's not yet ready for Froch, he must build some extra confidence and get more active before.

I don't blame him for avoiding Froch as long as possible, it's all a part of boxing. It's been going on from the beginning. If he screws around long enough Froch might retire, anything is possible.

From what I understand from the medias here, Bute would want Froch now, his team doesn,t think that he's ready just yet. Now Pavlik or Bikia? Hard to say, I think that there is many talks at the same time and that they will opt for the better deal of them all.

Bute would be far better with Pavlik.

I dont think Pavlik is as strong or hard hitting as Bika and Pavlik will hesitate and think, whereas Bika will charge forward throwing all sorts of shit

Yes, Bute handled Bika better than anyone else, including Calzaghe and Ward.

This is probably why he is eager to fight Bika again, assuming Bika beats this Sjeloka fellow.

Bika is a beast, gotta love the guy. GO BIKA !

    By Fuck!

What a twat, I forgot about that!

You might think Bute handled him easiest but Bika himself has said that Calzaghe was the best fighter hes fought.

Hmm, makes you wonder what went wrong against Froch. Maybe he just thought he could stand and trade because he saw Froch as easy to hit?

Sigh, fuck upgraded champs, I just want one p4p guy to go on TV and say: "hey fuck all these belts, I'm the man of my division and you can't call yourself anyone but a titlist or a paper-champ until you actually fight me."

When I read this at fightnews early today I was livid and stayed away from my computer.

What a joke. Why do people covet these meaningless trinkets when shit like this happens? I'm outraged as a hard core Bute fan and I had a feeling something like this would happen when the Kessler talks were on with Froch.

I've lost respect for Bute for agreeing to this route and it tells me he is mentally done. My suggestion to him is to go ahead and get that sex change operation.

This is part of the reason I was so shocked by the froch result. You can say bute fought nobodies and b fighters but he beat all those b fighters more impressively than anyone else did, with the exception of the andrade fiasco. Its like you don't look that good beating lower top ten and then just crash and burn like that, makes no sense.

Smells like a bit of a backdoor to a Championship frankly. Zero reason for Bute to rematch Bika, unless he had a trinket..oh wait

The wbc needs to just start dispensing its belts from a bubble gum machine, it would be more straight forward.

The WBC is setting Ward aside--emeritus status--while he heals to get at the sanctioning fees, it said that in the article. It's about the money.

Off course. In the real world a set up belt is akin to a temp agency.

Scandelous statement. I can't believe you think the WBC would do something for money. Suliaman is in it for the love of boxing, and nothing more. I've said it before and I'll say it again, it is all about clarity. Hopefully we'll get another 12 WBC belts per weightclass to clear things up a little more.
