    Default Diego Sanchez

did he deserve a unanimous d? I think not. The fight was a draw, IMO. He won because he was the agressor, but sometimes I thin that rule is stupid. Draw all the way. And that Canadian kid is one damed quick and slippery fellow with a pretty bright future in the UFC.

For Diego, that was a draw at best. I really feel he lost that fight. The other guy was fighting a smart fight. Sprawl and Brawl vs Wrestlers...only way to fly. Diego was more aggressive in round one, but he didnt actually manage to do anything. Takedown after takedown failed, and nobody really got much striking done. In my opinion, the other guy fought the fight he wanted to fight, and completely shutdown Diego. In my opinion, that rounds either a draw, or for Diego's opponent. Next round was obviously his opponent, and 3rd was definately Diego.

Long story short, it was a crap decision. However, this fight goes to show just how NOT dominant Diego is, and how his game is far too onesided.

I gave it the Canadian 2-1. yes Diego was the aggressor in rnds one and two but what did he do?? Apart from eat the Jab at least a dozen times, smart fighter the Canadian and if he let his hands go a bit more could be a real force, i thought Sanchez was exposed a little and didnt really know what to do, when he couldnt go route 1.

If you look at the way UFC bouts are scored: Striking, Grappling, Agression and Octagon Control

Diego was by far the agressor. He controlled the Octogon, moving inward and cornering Allesio.

Striking and Grappling wasn't there for either of them. I'd say in the first round that Allesio got the better of the striking. Next two rounds were stale mate.

Neither of them really did anything. However, when scoring the rounds, given their criteria, it goes to Diego.

Diego Sanchez is fucking retarded, BTW

Tiger, using your formula, it was a draw. Striking was Alessio, Grappling was Alessio (Diego tried more, but Alessio beat Diego's every attempt to grapple), Octagon control (probably goes to Diego, who was stalking the entire time) and Aggression (obviously Diego). That means a draw...in no way would it give Diego a win. However, it's never really stated that each component is given equal consideration. Watchin each of the rounds, its clearly obvious that Alessio got the better of Diego in the first two rounds. I truly feel that the UFC and the judges are trying to protect their golden boy Diego.

they put to much into "being agressive" if it's not effective agressiveness it should be ignored...anyone can walk forward and attempt to put on some pressure....you have to do something with it...
It feels good to be back home.
