If you fight in Amateur Competition, you have to wear the gloves supplied for that competition. Which will be USA Boxing Certified Gloves or for Euro Competition, AIBA Certified Competion Gloves.

    Good Luck!!!

    Here's a stupid question...

what happens if you're fighting and the gloves are too small. ie, what if 8oz gloves would never fit your hand? Do gloves come in various sizes at every weight?

Example: A guy at my gym has some 12ox trainers so I tried them on one day and I could even fit my hand in them. I felt like OJ. So far the only gloves I've ever been able to get on my hand were the 16oz ones that I ended up buying.

For Amateur bouts here are glove weights...

    10oz. Gloves up to 154lbs
    12oz. Gloves for 154lb+

Proffessional Bouts will use 10oz gloves.

Good question, nothing stupid about asking a question, its always stupid not to ask before you act....
