Default Margarito-phobia...is it real...or is Bob Arum a tightwad?

    Floyd was offered $8 Million

    Winky was offered $4 Million

So is it real? Are people afraid of Antonio Margarito?

Or is the case as simple as this "If Floyd can't/won't fight Oscar maybe Margarito is being hyped to make a big money fight with De la Hoya"

I don't see too much with Margarito other than he's probably the physically biggest welterweight in the game right now and he has decent skill. VS Floyd I think he'd struggle but also do some damage because he punches straight, but his punches aren't really that fast. VS De la Hoya I see him getting the shit kicked out of him...Oscar don't play

Everyone knows I'm a huge Tony fan but I'll tell it how it is.To me it seems PBF is apprehensive to fight Tony, due to the size disparity and the fact that Tony would be like a juggernaut against Floyd. If it is indeed true that Floyd wants to fight Kermit,it would make the idea that Floyd would beat Tony easily look silly, because if it was that easy, why would he need a tune up?

There are also others who are indeed ducking Tony:Baldomir sparred with him and said he would not fight him, Hatton dare not mention him after the Collazo fight and a few others too but I also believe that some are just nonsense and it's maybe to hype Tony up? He is devloping a sort of mystique, why will no-one fight him.

With regards to Winky,HELL no Winky did not duck him. The oinly reason he did not want to fight was because he was being offered far less than PBF,and maybe was insulted. Winky would beat Tony quite handily.

I agree most at 154 would give Margarito a hard time ( I would love ot see Tony-Mosley or Tony-Vargas or Tony-Mayorga) which is why Tony stays at 147 because he's huge there and he can physically dominate most everyone.

I just think since the super huge Mayweather Jr.-De la Hoya fight hasn't/can't be made then the next option would be to create a monster for Oscar to slay or create a torche passing oppertunity for ODH.

By that rational Tony Margarito poses the best action fight for ODH aside from Mosley or Floyd

Tony is a tough guy, he has decent boxing ability, and is willing to fight pretty much anyone from the looks of it...I mean you make an offer to Winky you're making offers to everyone else before him of course.

I think Cotto could be out muscled by Tony, Hatton could, pretty much anyone at 140 would have trouble with a guy that big because it's like fighting a middleweight.

I'm not going to lie.I believe 100% that Tony can beat anyone and everyone at 147. At 154,not as confident but still,I think he could take Ouma,Mayorga,he would kill Vargas who throws 1 punch then waits for you to throw,if Mosley fights like he did against Vargas first time,Tony would beat him too. I think Karmazin would be a bit too much.Anyway,I hope Margarito stays@147,that's where all the big names are.
Oh by the way,I think Oscar would get hurt by Tony at this stage in his career and in no way would it be an easy fight. I don't think Oscar is back to his best as everyone likes to think after his destruction of Mayorga and I think PBF would win quite easily.

I'm not sure anyone will have an easy time with Vargas...yeah he's pretty shot but Tito had trouble vs him, Oscar had trouble vs him...SHANE had trouble vs him.

Fernando is a tough tough fighter, never forget it.

Tony hasn't had to prove he's tough in a long time. I think it's pretty crap he's fighting Rivera, ZAB JUDAH beat him in 3 rounds....I wouldn't mind seeing a Zab-Tony fight.

I don't think Tony will take the Riverira fight,it proves nothing!I'd like Tony to fight Zab too and when he knocks him out,he will have the name on his resume that he needs.
There are also guys like Clottey,Williams(whom he took to war in sparring)and Quintana(who has been mentioned as a possibility) but I don't think he willget anything from beating these guys,it'll be like the Cintron fight. EVERYONE hyped Cintron as this killer,as the new tito and when Tony beat the shat out of him, everyone says who is Cintron,he was overhyped etc etc.

Vargas is tough but Tito annihilated him and almost ruined him, ditto Oscar and he has never been the same. He does not excel at anything,he's slow, flat footed, and takes alot of punches and the amount of leather Margarito would throw at him would swamp him!

    Have people actually watched Margarito?

Please download his fights and watch him, he is sooooooooooo slow, and just throws punches without any real accuracy...

People he is made for Flloyd...Yes if he catches Flloyd he will hurt him, but thats the point, Flloyd is too good to get hit by margarito, and Margarito isnt skilled or quick enough or accurate enough to hit Flloyd.

Flloyds been in with better than margarito, he fought Castillo, who is P4P way better than Tony, and although Flloyd struggled, he still beat Jose.

Margarito, isnt near Flloyd and is made for him, you dont win fights against people as good as Flloyd if your just a puncher....

Mayorga was a puncher, Oscar destroyed him, margarito is nothing but a puncher, flloyd will destroy him, maybe not knock him out, but certainly mess up his face, and UD the match.

Please watch Margarito, then watch flloyd straight after.

Ones too slow, the others to quick.

it would be a boring fight, because Flloyd would hit him 4 times by the time tonys threw, and flloyd will be over the other side of the ring!

Floyd is not as fleet footed as he was at 140. Margarito threw good, fast ,accurate combinations against Cintron and you obviously have not watched enough of Tony,as he works the head and the body brilliantly. He can also adapt to a fight, turning southpaw v Santos, being the boxer and countering v Cintron and yes,we he needs to and knows he can,go gung ho against 6 heads and Hercules Kyvelos. Floyd did beat JLC who is better than TOny.....4 years ago....anyone he has fought then don't compare to Tony. And lest I reminfd you that Castillo is not exactly renownd for his hand speed yet managed to (in most's opinions)beat PBF the first time.

Mayorga does not compare to Margarito and I don't know whether it has some bearing or not but Oscar took a good old hiding from Tony during sparring a few years back, made him bleed and was sent home!

Tony's punches are straight and straight punches will hurt and bother Mayweather Jr.

I'm not saying that Floyd will lose but the fight needs to be made

I respect your opinion Game, and I am sure in each others eyes, we are wrong.

However, at this point I dont think, Tony has done enough to warrant Flloyd, and thus I havent seen anything to make me think he would have a chance with Flloyd.

It wouldnt hurt me to see Tony knock him out, but I know Flloyd is too slick and too good defensively for anything Tony brings

Do you have the vid of Tony Oscar Game, i wouldnt mind seeing that.

Tony would live with Oscar though.....

I have no video of the Tony-Oscar sparring but I have heard it from a variety of sources so I believe it to be true. Also,I disagree,it's not entirely Margarito's fault that not many people want to fight him and he has beaten everyone pu in front of him AND,is WBO champ and has done more than any of Floyds opponents going back to JLC to justify a title shot. Half of Floyd's last opponents were coming off losses.
