Honestly who thought Spinks deserved to take Karmazin's titles on that effort? I know his corner didn't.

"You knocked him down...now how bout you try knockin me down ?"
The whole Foreigner screwed by the US judges defense is getting a little old(for the people using it) You know that Hatton didn't do enough to take away the american Collazo's title but he still got it, so now aint the time to be calling foul![]()
And as far as this go. Spinks won the fight clearly or Karmazin got a draw, but there is no way that Karmazin won the fight
I expected Spinks to get run over. But he didn't. He fought a good fight. He clearly tired and ran at the end. But it was still his win.
Even Karmazin felt he lost the fight though i would have given a draw. I did notice something sinister in the refs eyes before the fight even started and his rushing in as soon as the fighters got close may have had a sneaky but subtle affect against the more powerful and aggressive Karmazin.
No Spinks won the fight....
Spinks just edged it, faded late on but Karmazin never really looked like doing anything.
Even in the 11th round when the commentators made it sound like Spinks was ready to go Karmazin did nothing. Coming forward relentlessly only scores points if you throw and land punches, of which Karmazin did little of either.

Spinks just simply out boxed Karm who was not busy enough throwing punches. Spinks landed that Str8 Left at will , and the Spinks right jab was on the mark all night.
I was hoping Karm would win by the way. That who I picked to win the fight by KO. LOL
Spinks landed a lot of lefts to his chest and shoulders, not a lot of clean shots though.Originally Posted by Lords Gym

Spinks landed a lot on Karm’s beard too ! The thing was Karm was hardly even doing anything early, hands down by his side all night, just did not look like he wanted to turn it up until the very end . I was sitting there thinking " Get in there Karm and cash Spink's check" but he didn’t, he got out boxed ! Giving R 10 to Karm was a gift, I remember thinking at that point, damn I got to give this guy something. Yeah know, not his best performance and he knew it. He was off for whatever reason , he was just off.Originally Posted by Hulk
Spinks won, although Karmazin finished strong.
The Best There Is, The Best There Was, The Best There Ever Will Be
Nope Cory Fought a good fight and deserved the win The only reason Karm had a chance in the later round was cause Cory was getting tired ,on the other hand Cory showed alot of heart and determination down the stretch even though he was hanging on by a thread he still hung on..I have no problem with it and neither did Karm you can blame the ref all you want ..
Karm was beat to the punch and outboxed most of the nite Cory was moving around well early and giving great angles and even backed off iron kaw Karm a few times I have no problem with the desicion and I am impressed by Cory for winning his 1st fight at 154 against a guy like "Made In Hell" and taking a belt home...
Am rewatching the fight as I type, in the 12th round. After a second viewing I give Karmazin the second round but I gave him in the 7th which I didn't think he won first time through. Watched the 6th round again, no way do I think that Karmazin won that round. He was landing one punch at a time, landed a pretty nice 1,2 late in the round but it didn't hurt Spinks and Spinks was landing a lot.
I watched it twice also scoring it the second time. ,Originally Posted by SecondRoundKO
I'm watching the figh today but the consensus on most sites I've been on is that it could and maybe should have been a draw. I feel for Roman,he gave Spinks a totally undeserved shot, lost and there was no rematch clause....and now,Roman will be in that band of high risk, low reward so I doubt he will get any big fights anymore. Let's see if Spinks gives him a rematch...
