Inherit their boxing trainers fighting style.

I was reading this weeks boxing news and it was mentioned that barry McGuigans son who is a 17 year old middleweight amatuer 2-0. Barry said that his son fights just like him. Barry sAys that he worked really hard training him and now the kid fights just like him, even has his fathers trade mark left hook to the body.

Look at the Brendan Ingle Gym fighters. They all fight the same, prince naseem, Johnny nelson, and the youngest prospect Kell BRook, all fight the same regardless of the size. Interesting. All good/great fighters!

Now look at Cus d'amato's fighters. Jose Torress, Floyd Patterson, Mike Tyson, all had the same style of bobbing and weaving. They were very successful, Proven style!

The pro gym i train at (to learn how to actually box) the trainer trains most people the same depending on the stature. Most guys at the gym are boxer/punchers, its more a fighters style but bobbing and weaving, Good defense is good offense. the empasis on the style is to pressure the other fighter, get in close WITHOUT GETTING HIT and land the big shots.

Now the amatuer gym i train at (to get the amatuer fights.) they dont have a proper train, they change trainers every season. They all have their own style, nothing proven or special. they seem to have figured what works for them and put it all together.

I think having a proper trainer is very important for the reasons above. Do any of you have the same problem with trainers in amatuer boxing gyms? luckily i have a proper trainer who can teach me proper.
