Default Warren- Enzo can beat Haye

Frank Warren is backing Enzo Maccarinelli to have a big impact at world level - and says he would beat domestic rivals Johnny Nelson and David Haye.

Maccarinelli beat Fabian Marcelo Dominguez to capture the interim WBO cruiserweight title on Saturday night.

He is scheduled to fight incumbent champion Nelson before the end of September, and if he doesn't recover from long-term injury, Maccarinelli will be announced full title holder.

And Warren believes that could be just the start of a long-term reign.

"I thought Enzo did really well on Saturday," said Warren. "It was a fight that was ordered by the WBO and Dominguez is no mug, he was their number two after all.

"I think he will have too much for Johnny Nelson and I'd make a fight with David Haye, in fact I tried to, in a heartbeat.

"Haye would be dangerous for a couple of rounds, but after that there are big question marks over his stamina and his chin, and he would be struggling.

"I think Enzo is a very under-rated fighter, but over the next couple of years he will show just how good he is.

"He's got a tremendous punch but also real heart. He got put down by a cracking shot against Bruce Scott but climbed off the floor to win. I think he will go on to prove he is a much better fighter than people give him credit for."

enzo's good but seems to get hit to often, he seems to lack the abillity to duck, slip or roll away from punchs, but he's got a good chin which haye hasn't, it would be a good fight and i'd like enzo to win by ko

Yeah i have to agree that after Hayes last peformance Enzo would grind him down and probably KO him
    after 8 rounds.
    Great domestic matchup

Haye needs to vary his punches more instead of the 1/2 straight left BIG right all the time...
Granted it's effective but when it fails he looks like he's clueless.
Needs more strings to his bow.
Lennox is helping him train in Miami so hopefully he'll take some sound advice on board.
Also he seems to have this huge glamour thing attatched to him (jamie redknapp,Gordon Ramsay etc) were all at the York hall for his last fight and i think that does him no favours bearing in mind he's a relatively young pro with only 16 odd fights.

Why would Haye turn down a fight with Enzo? I reckon he'd fancy taking him out in a couple of rounds.

Would be a great fight whilst it lasts.

As much as I dont want to I'd have to back Enzo at this point in time, both would be hurt but Enzo has shown that he can deal with it, Haye hasnt, or cant.
When God said to the both of us "Which one of you wants to be Sugar Ray?" I guess I didnt raise my hand fast enough

Personally I think they are both overratted. Haye good boxer, big puncher, no chin and stamina issues.
Enzo, big puncher, good chin and plenty of stamina, but zero skills.

If they could morph into one fighter, the result would be a world beater but as they are they are both beatable.

In fact I'd fancy Calzaghe or B Hop to be able to go up to 185 lb and beat them both.

This would be a very tight and competitive domestic fight, though I'd probably agree that the longer it goes the more likely Enzo is to take it. He had to bide his time in Cardiff, waiting for that awkward Argentinian to punch himself out, lose his energy and frenetic attacks, and then caught hims with a cracking uppercut.
He was down on points by then, but Dominguez's early flurries in each round were getting shorter, and his attacks took over. He would have taken it on points in the end.
I just think his chin would allow him to enure the early rounds against Haye, and he'd come on strong in the later rounds and either knock Haye out or overcome whatever points deficit he had.

Mate these guys are big cruiserweights they are basically heavyweights, do you think Clazghe of Haye could take a shot off these two?
