    Default Quartey-Forrest

So the Forrest and Quartey fight is quickly approaching us and I was wondering what everyones thoughts were on how the fight will turn out and who needs the win more, and whoever wins who's the next oppenent they should face.
Will this fight make any noise in the division, will it make any of the other fighters on the lookout for either of these two or will it not matter at all. Just some questions I thought i would throw out there for you all.

This one will be a tough call, I say IKE outscraps Vernon to a narrow decision
For every story told that divides us, I believe there are a thousand untold that unite us.

I posted this thread about three weeks ago, like I said there Ike Quartey should take this fight. Each fighter has only fought a couple of times in the last 4 to 5 years and once had brilliant careers. Not much gas left in either one but Quartey is the favorite because Vernon Forrest is damaged and coming back from injury unlike Quartey who was off because of ego. The winner of this match should be the champ of this division within the next year or so, it is wide open.

Oh my bad man I didn't realize you posted this a few weeks ago. Heres a cool click for ya.

But on another note I think your about Quartey winning because Vernon has injuries but personally I would love to see Vernon win then fight mayorga again and win this time. I use to be a huge fan of Vernon I'm really curios to how he's goig to do though since all the injuries and against some good compitition.

it could go either way but when you have to come back from an injury usually you become more focused and the injury has the potential to become an asset......I like Forrest and am going with him because he didn't take time off because of "ego" probs......I think Forrest is motivated to prove he can still hang....can't wait for this fight.....
It feels good to be back home.

In the press conference he said the he would much rather fight Mayorga than Quartey and dreams about it all the time. He also stated that Trinidad and ODH used his tactics in the second Mayorga fight to beat him. I disagree, there was nothing tactical about Trinidad beating down Mayorga, it was a brawl and an ass whoopin, no tactics were used. Another thing is that if Forrest would of just boxed him he would have won the fight, but we no the story. Hopefully these to fighters have just enough left to give us a great fight, back in 99 this would have been awesome.

I think this is a brilliant match-up between two great fighters ! Forrest is a tremendous fighter ,and Quartey has one of the most pleasing styles to watch, his punches come off perfect, and he has one of the best jabs in boxing. Ike is a sharp shooter. No matter who win this fight. the fans will be winners ! Great match making here !

You gotta be fwockin shattin me?

You think that? Quartey hasn't knocked out anyone worth mentioning. It took him 10 rounds to get to Carlos Bojorquez...come on.

Forrest will shock dismissers if he comes in on time.

Forrest gets hit with straights like jabs and Quartey has a great jab I think he'll put it in Forrests face all night, looking at Forrests last fight he doesn't look like he'd beat Quartey, he is too open. I'm not saying Quartey isn't open, but Vernon's opening may cost him more unless he lands his uppercut

Reason being that I said Forrest has to come in on time.

To me...this fight is about who looks the oldest the quickest.

I haven't been impressed with either fighter since they made a comeback & I have always thought that Ike is just too ruff around the edges.

Quartey walks into this fight with the Lou Dibella advantage... Dibella has a way with the judges so Forrest better look for a KO or an overwelming performance to pull out the win!
