    Default Rigondeaux fighting another nobody

Fighting someone named Marroquin, who lost to a guy named Francisco Leal a year ago. Ont the Martinez-Chavez undercard. Rigondeaux-Marroquin on Chavez Jr.-Martinez card | RingTV

For all the talk about Donaire "ducking" Rigo, Rigo has really not fought anyone notable yet -- with perhaps the exception of Rico Ramos (who held that title only by virtue of a lucky punch). He really ought to be fighting top 10 guys at the weight class exclusively -- I have no doubt he'd be beating them, and it would position him much better for a Donaire fight. This seems utterly pointless, aside from maybe more highlight reel fodder (against a nobody).

Waaaaaaaaay to fast for Marroquin. Marroquin was actually kind of a big time prospect, he was on a lot of Arum undercards and Solo Boxeo shows. Big time amateur career, all sorts of national titles and he's a super talented fighter who is not anywhere close to ready for Rigondeaux. I don't know why Top Rank is cashing out so early on him. To bad.

I'm agreeing with everything you said, but how do we ever find out how good these fighters are if they're not tested against the best? It's more than likely that you are right, we'll be looking at a mismatch.
Most important, it will tell Marroquin exactly where he stands and what he needs to work on. Could be that Top Rank wants to motivate him. Whatever's happening I want to see the outcome!

Big surprise, another Arum in house between a guy that should have been fast tracked a year ago who is nearly 32 with 400 amateur bouts under his belt and a no hoper.

Time to shit or get off the pot.

That's Arum for you. Killing boxing with his shit..does there not come an age where you really don't need that much money anymore? It astounds me that he still talks about this and that fight "will make me millions!" - You taking that shit to the grave Uncle Bob??

Bigger fights will be made more easily when he's gone

Rigondeaux has called out Donaire and Mare niether feel he brings money 2 the table. Rigo should Darchiniyan that should be entertaing or Abecko 4 because Abecko called him out.

Rigo is fighting Poonsawat Kratingdaenggym, a good opponent from Thailand, on the undercard of Donaire-Arce. British/Irish fight fans may recall his fight against Bernard Dunne a few years ago.

Hopefully, they're setting up a big fight between Rigo and Donaire.
