    Default MASKAEV

We should be talking about Maskaev now its the closest HW fight. So that we are all on the same page:

    Its unpredictable.

Maskaev deserves to win after so many years. Seems like a nice guy. Built like Hercules.

I mean what is fun with Maskaev is to imagine him face JT Peter WK Valuev and the rest.

Honestly...I really don't know how much Maskaev has left...he went 12 rounds with Samil Sam & I don't really rate him.

Rahman will be a good measuring stick...but...if he does get past Rahman & moves on to Wlad...I think he's fwocked.

Wlad will pretty much own him with his jab...& let's all face facts...Maskaev aint gettin any younger. He's got I think 5 years on Rahman & either 7 or 8 on Wlad.

Age could be a factor in either fight.

I figure if Rahman paces himself and perhaps uses a better left hook he SHOULD beat the shit out of Maskaev.

    HOWEVER

    1) We must recognize Rahman's lack of power vs Toney, Ruiz, and Monte Barrett

    2) We must also recognize the psychological affect of the defeat he suffered vs Maskaev

    3) and finally we must realize that his defense hasn't been up to par lately

I'm pulling for Hasim, I want him to live up to his potential and do well so that he and Wlad can fight for all the marbles!

Yes its hard to know but:

    a) What was that Toney fight about? Poor judgement to stay within Toneys reach and let him rest work inside. Plus he didnt put a smaller dude away.

    b) True the Barrett and the other werent that great.

    c) Maskaev is under new management and new intelligent coaching.

    d) Maskaev is as big as Rock, and hits as hard.

    e) He has already won once.

    f) Samil Sam is very good and it was a good fight. Perfect tune up.

So it could be a tough night for rahman. Both guys are cool. My heart is w Maskaev after so many years.

Yee I saw bits and pieces of Maskaev vs Samil sam and Maskaev did look pretty good, he easily outboxed and beat him down over 12 rounds at a pretty good pace and looked good in the late rounds.. I don't think Rahman has ever done that in his life against anyone... With the first result, this should be at least a good fight.

I agree with all of the above but then again Rahman seems very serious for this fight...I think his personal pride is on the line and he doesnt want to be embaressed again......He trim fit and mentaly ready...Unlike Rahmans usual pre fight talk when he just seems cocky and clowning for the cameras he seems like he is talking with intent....When needed he can box!!!!...its just been so long we all forget this

IMO Maskaev's time has past he is doing now what he should have done 5 yrs ago...He might beat Rahman I mean styles make fights and the mental thing is there for Rahman you never forget a guy who KO'd you so devestatingly...Rahman is a better fighter I will have to say but the mind game is always there...Even if Oleg wins his reign will be short
