    Default UFC HW division

who's left? It's a two-horse race and it's now starting to look to me like Arlovski is done. I mean, how many times can we watch those two fight? So beyond them, who's a legit contender? Mir? Maybe, but that's it.

I'm not a sylvia fan but for a guy who's 6'8", he aint tiny. Maybe he aint too bad. Maybe he and arlovski should bolt to pride where the really HWs are.

I'm really looking forward to Monson fighting Tim. If Jeff can take sylvia down its over. Jeff has shown a good chin so he will be able to eat plenty of punches. Mir is the most talented fighter in the Div but as you saw last night he obviously is having personal issues. He was woefully out of shape and a good 20 lbs over his normal fighting weight.

Mir out of shape? I was kind of thinking maybe he was just trying to do a Tank Abbot impression....he's not quite there with the belly thing. That fight was really boring, a contest of out of shape cows with excessively dull skills. However, sloppy does describe his fight quite well. That fight was very symbolic of the steep decline in the UFC heavyweight div....

I'd like to see Vera in more fights, and they need to resign Buentello. They could also bringin Randleman. I know he is a pride throw away but he is marketable and has had some big wins.

The HW division isn't that small as far as I know. It just doesn't seem to have many good fighters at the moment, as evidenced by the spectacle of UFC 61...arghhh..

Its not so much that the division is small, but more that the number of legitmate contenders is. Most of the UFC heavyweight division is just filler for the undercards.

Im wondering why UFC dosnt look elsewhere for fighters, al la Asia, Europe, South America. I read one post that said most fighters came from Canada and America. Is he trying to make the UFC a "North American" sport? Its defintly much harder to hype a fighter who cant speak English. ..i want to fuk..no fight, Chuck Liddell.

Thats a big part of it. The other part is that Pride takes most of the other foreign fighters.

That's also why I think Sylvia is a much better HW champ than Arlovski. You can't hype the heavyweight division when your champion can't speak English very well. At least Sylvia can talk smack much better, and possibly bring a little bit of excitement outside the ring to the UFC HWs. God knows they need it.

Pride definitely has the better HW's only a matter of time before Pride invades the US...

The champ has no challenger right now...AA is done against Sylvia for a while now.

And what....no love for Monson? That guy is crazy with his submission, and I think he could be a very interesting matchup against Sylvia. Sylvia has a HUGE reach and striking advantage, but Monson is a demon on the ground.
