What do you guys think about the Contender series on ESPN? What do you like, love, hate about it?

A bit of both, I love the idea of the show, But I hate the way they do it.. I don't wanna see all that crap before the fight to do with the guys family or hear how big his ego is and how he's gonna kill the other guy. From my personal veiw I wanna see more of the training and sparring, maybe a small bit about how each fighter has got on in training in the week. I suppose they have to add the other stuff so that it more appealing to the general public but drives me mad. I hate also as your watching the fight the camera keeps flicking to people at ringside, I don't wanna see or hear the guys wife screaming I wanna see the fight!..It could be improved in a lot of ways in my view, in one sentence.. I have some fairly good fights on the show; they may consider leaving the coached little children out and less camera time on the babes/wives. I mean, how about the homely wives? Observe how they spend a short time on Ray Leonard; perhaps he has some speech problems

I like the concept of the show. I would like for them to show me of the training and the different things everybody does. I dont care to much about them showing the family and famiy time would rather see more about each fighter and how the react to each other inside and outside of the ring, training.

Actually a porn idol audition show would be great. You could have losers like Leah from Big Brother and other skanky hoes auditioning and a panel of judges to replace Sharon Osbourne, Simon Cowell etc.

The panel judges could be Paris Hilton, Peter Stringfellow and Ben Dover.

It would be hilarious, each week sees a different theme, Blowjobs/Facial, Anal, Squirting etc.

The judges score each round and every Saturday night the viewers get to vote one off.

I can't stand the show. I hate the infused drama. Its boxing..two men attempting to knock the other one out. How much more drama do you need? And I hate the fight editing. The slow motion shots..the cutting away to SRL everytime a big punch lands. Over produced in my book.

I think it is great. I am a boxing fan and boxing is pretty much the only tv I watch. With most fights my wife and kids have no interest, unless it's a big ppv. Then they don't watch anything but the main event.

Contender gets the attention of my entire family, my wife cries at every show when they show the loser in the locker room. My youngest kids are 6 and 7 and they root for a fighter and get upset if they lose. It has enough boxing to keep me interested, and enough of the other stuff to get the family involved. For that reason it's great.
