When Serguei wins and how does he win? And if Valuev wins on October 7th against Monte Barrett they should fight and who would win the fight between serguei and Valuev?

I'm not convinced that Serguei will win the fight against Briggs for a start, Briggs is quite a bit bigger than him and has a fair punch, so if it does end early, I reckon that it will go to Briggs. However, Lyakovich will have to do what Maskaev did if he wants to win, if he covers up and hangs on for the first 6 or 7, dodges the big hits, has the stamina, and doesn't leave his chin too open, then as Briggs tires, as a man of his size inevitably will, then Serguei tees off and starts to knock him about. It's a closer fight than you think fan4life, and I'm gonna drop on the side of Briggs, cause he does have the big size and reach difference.
As for Valuev, I think they both could do pretty well against him, but the Russian giant would beat both of them in my view. He has better conditioning and stamina than Briggs, and Lyakovich would find it impossible to get past his big arms and guard.
I think that Shannon will put a hurtin' on him & win by UD or late TKO
Briggs might do well early but Sergei can take it and he has stamina
I agree that he has great stamina but lacks the type of skill that Briggs possesses & that will be his downfall! I think that many disregard BriggsOriginally Posted by Lyle
Because he hasn't fought anyone good for a LOOOOOOONG time
I ain't put my money either way at the moment....we have all that wonderful trash-talking and general shenanigans of a build up to look forward to for that!Originally Posted by Lyle
I'd have to go with Briggs just because he has been on the big stage more than Sergei. Further, Sergei won the title from a very
unpredictable Brewster. I don't know what kind of a chin Sergie has, but that will play a big role in the fight. Shannon's chin isn't
all that great, but he has a wonderful jab and a great, powerfull right hand.
The question is "can Briggs sustain an attack for 12 rounds"?
We all know Sergei can
Lyakhovich will domiate Briggs unless Briggs is a totally different fighter from what he was in the past like when he got a gift decision over Forman.
Although I would really like to see Valuev go far I doubt he will beat Barrette unless he gets another gift in Germany.
Valuev is much better than you think. He is serious and impossible to stop.Originally Posted by maracho
I would take Shannon Briggs to stop Lyakhovich late around the 8th.
This should be a very evely matched fight...Briggs is the classic underachiever that seems to have little heart or stamina(He says asthma, Atlas says heart)....Generally Briggs fights tenatively against people he thinks can hurt him, I agree with Atlas...Lyakhovich is really just a little above average as far as a fighter goes, squeeking by Brewster, Guinn and being stopped by Maurice Harris hardly makes him a dominating fighter...Personally I don't think Lyakhovich moves well enough to avoid Briggs power and Shannon will KO him inside of 6 rounds...
I'm just not that impressed with Lyakhovich...not that impressed with Briggs either...but I think that Briggs will over power him down the stretch.
Briggs is a lot more imposing than Brewster.
