Default UFC: a lower grade of MMA

Pride fighters are just more experienced & IMO far better fighters!

I'd like to see how Hughes would do against Vanderlei Silva

    or Tim Silva VS. Fedor

or Tito Ortiz VS. Quinton Rampage Jackson

I'm not going to argue with Pride having some great champions and definately better depth. But I think the UFC's welter and middleweight div are very underrated. UFC has Sherk/Pulver/stevens/Florian/Franca at light weight all though none of these guys can compare to Gomi it isn't a bad place to start. At welterweight UFC is absoultely dominant with Hughes/GSP/Penn/Sanchez. UFC's middleweight div is lead by Franklin and complemented with Anderson Silva/Louseui(sp)/Swick/tanner. Not a bad group. Now here is where Pride starts to kick UFC's ass. At LHW its pretty much just Chuck and Tito and I'm hard pressed to even count Ortiz. And I'm not going to even mention UFC's HW div.

It'll be very interesting to see how sanchez handles the "big boys".... GSP, Penn, Hughes. I don't think he's there just yet, but he might be one day. And don't forget Koz.

Your right Von...Koz looked great in his last fight. There are alot of young guys at 170 and 185 that could be real good with more experience. UFC is trying to market to North America so it looks for good American/Canadian fighters that it can market well. Its hard to push a fighter in the states if he doesn't speak english not matter how good he is. Pride on the other hand is a much more international org. Now that Pride has lost their TV contract in Japan and will really need to pickup a piece of the US mma pie it will be interesting if they change their marketing at all.(maybe why Tyson has been doing more promo work for them)

How about Chuck vs Nakamura,or Rich Franklin vs Ryo Chonan......What you said is just bias .Pride has some good fighters and UFC has some good fighters.Pride has some bad fighters, and UFC has some bad fighters.
