Default Your thoughts on the fights??

I have heard my fellow members talking about MAB's masterclass over Rocky but what about the other fights? I thought the Vazquez and Gonzalez fight was superb,a mini version of Chavez Taylor with Gonzalez boxing beautifully,he was really impressive but Vazquez showing why he is P4P worthy in my opion with great heart, determination and grit and awesome power.

I was dissappointed in Barrios showing against Guzman and although Guzman looked really superb,he rolls with punches beautifully has great hand speed and power,I thought Barrios punches lacked the snap that they normally have, possibly due to the weight? I have heard a rematch could be in the works.

I have not seen the Paez fight but I heard the other guy was TOTALLY robbed, someone fill me in?I thought the card was very good, although none of the fights were as esciting as I thought they would be,they were interesting.

PS what do you guys think of the booing MAB was getitng and at the post fight press conference, some people said he ran too much and he was just running and holding?!!? These guys don't appreciate the art of boxing right?

I think the card overall was exciting.

Paez Jr. is far more skilled that what he showed, wether or not the plan was to make it an exciting fight and trade thats a different story. Paez uses his waist movements and lateral movements to make his opponents miss I saw none of that last night. In the end it was a close fight but Paez won the fight. Rd. 1 was Campos, rd. 2 was Paez, rd. 3 was Paez, rd. 4 was even. Thats how I saw it.

The Barrios-Guzman fight was insane I love how Guzman work to the body and and just stand there to trade. Barrios never went down which says a lot about Barrios, His heart was there but Guzman was much stronger and worked more efficent through out the night. I personally DONT think a rematch should happen, Guzman should move on to other names out there Humberto Soto, Alex Arthur, Oscar Larios, Gary St. Clair, Robbie Peden. Theres plenty out there.

Gonzalez-Vasquez IMO lived up to the expectations, I thought Gonzalez longer reach and skills would give him the advantage, it started off that way but soon Vasquez realised that when Gonzalez through the right instead of bringing it straight back Gonzalez would bring it back slowly and would not bring it up high, which is how Vasquez managed to land his punches and he took advantage of that dropping Ginzalez with his right. Vasquez has ring smarts and more then that he has POWER.
Israel Vasquez vs. Somsak Sithchatchawal Anyone ? ? ? that would be a good fight.

MAB-Juarez I've already expressed how I felt about that masterpiece.

I don't think a guy like Barrera, who's given boxing so many good fights, should be booed for fighting a smart fight but maybe thats just me. It wasn't thrilling but it was interesting and if Barrera's got a big fight left in him than it would have been stupid to stand and trade and take more punishment than he needed too.

I don't see a point to a Guzman-Barrios rematch either. What the hell was that one judge watching? Judging in boxing all together is getting progessively worse, its not a toughman contest, its boxing. But Barrios is still in the mix and can still beat a lot of guys and it was a pretty entertaining fight.

I picked Vasquez to win but I was really starting to change my mind before the fight and then with the knockdowns I was worried but he just outlasted Gonzalez, and like Mick said I was impressed with not just his toughness but the fact that he made some adjustments as the fight went on.

Paez did enough to win. The other guy was not robbed
