i dont expect many ppl here to be golf fans

personally i played golf for a few years and even aquired the isle of wight jr championships along the way but the last 3 days have been excellent

and i was welled right up when darren clarke holed out on the last, his tears for his wife are 1 of those moments that will stay within the history of the cup forever

The buzz around here was massive all last week (I live not too far from the course). The kids were going mental at the thought of Tiger Woods being so near them, even though most of them have never even touched a golf club. He just has that mainstream appeal, like Muhammad Ali or Pele.
Usually I would never dream of watching golf, but I admit that I got sucked into it a bit with all the hype, haha... still didn't have a clue what was going on though? Birdies, eagles and bogeys? Anyone? Haha. I was confused as hell, but glad Europe won.
Good to see Darren Clarke back too, he has had it hard.
