Default What do you think of Chavez and Ahminijad?

These two went up at the UN and blasted Bush and the US. AND THEN Chavez went to speak at a LIBERAL Arts University and was greeted with cheers and applause and Ahminijad went to a meeting with the US Foreign Relations Committee and blasted them there too!

Honestly I think these guys are unprofessional and immature. I think the people at the New York Liberal Arts school are a bunch of fucking idiots and Ahminijad is an egotistical prick.

I'm all ready to start running my car on Biodiesel to break their countries!

America is a good country and it is wrong to hate us because most of us have it good off....you don't think people in Iran have it better because of the OIL money, what about Venezuela You don't think that there are rich people there who get what they want?

Chavez is just like any other South American populist, like Che or Morales

Ahminijad doesn't even run his country he's a figurehead for the same Muslims that were around in the 1980 Hostage Crisis

I think that Chavez' chin would be the difference. Anyone who can put together an unbeaten streak like that is going to take some beating (although a few decisions he got were pretty dodgy)

    Hugo Chavez

He rambles a lot and calls Bush "Mr. Danger" like he's some sort of secret agent or something. But where does this GENOCIDE bullshit come up, who has America had a genocide for lately? A case can be made for Indians when America was in it's founding stages but come on...recently and during Bush's years of leadership

Well the war in Iraq was perhaps a little bit illegal and the US does consistently support the Israeli state. This might go someway to explaining Ahminijad's hostility.

I ve no qualms with these "rebel" leaders standing up against the politics of the US. And it is the politics and policies they are against. Not the US populace itself. I only wish Blair would be less po faced and say something as quirky and interesting as these dudes!! :P

I may not agree with what those guys say or believe, but the scary thing is they are both considerably more intelligent and articulate that the current US president.

    Chavez is not intelligent

The US AND UK support Israel because we saved those people from the Nazi's and they are entitled to live like anyone else.

    Ahminijad is not smart either

I don't mind that we don't see eye to eye with them but name calling? threats of violence? How is that going to get anything accomplished?

I didn't say they were intelligent or smart, I just said that they were more so than the US President!

For sure Chavez is not intelligent, but is Bush really that much smarter without his scripts written up for him?

The Jews were saved from the Nazis so why not at the time grant greater immigration rights to the US and the UK? The democratic countries opposing anti semitism prior to world war 2 failed to allow their borders to open for these peoples needs. Im no proponent of Zionism. Palestinians have always been there. There was no real reason to divide that nation and just create a state within a state. That problem lingers today and will continue to linger.

Threats of violence? The US went beyond a UN mandate to go to work in Iraq. And the UK followed. Irresponsible acts IMO...and the threat of civil war is now ensuing...not gone all that well has it really?

OK let's get this straight, the were no WMD's however it was the Clinton Administration's policy to get rid of Saddam and so this gave him a reason to side with another enemy of the US and conceivibly attack the US....far fetched? Yeah...did we attack Iraq too quick? more than likely but the main problem I have is we went in with too few troops.

The US is held to a different standard than these guys, they can torture and it's ok but we do and everyone jumps on it ( we SHOULDN'T do it because I honestly believe we ARE a higher standard and should act like it)...they cut off US civilians' heads and we hold questionable people in Gitmo...which is worse?

The US never threatened to irradicate any race of people

But it was the Bush administration that did this. A lie is a lie. Politicians are notorious and we got another big glooper with this premeditated war. The main problem is that the reason for war was a gross lie. Again a lie is a lie.

The US should hold the higher moral ground. Regardless, they should always hold the higher moral ground. Because a soldier has his head cut off does not mean we condone acts of torture on our own captives. These are random terrorists cutting off heads, not agents excercising the rights of the most powerful deomocratic force in the world today. The US should therefore excercise the moral highground. Terrorist actions are not the views of the typical humanitarian, either Arab or Western....

But politics is politics and the likes of Chavez and Bush are not so different. its only the power differences that differentiate them...

Bush is MUCH different than Chavez...you are the idiot if you think they are the same.

Clinton laid the groundwork for the invasion...W and his cabnet thought they would accomplish something in invading Iraq.

And Bush failed to accomplish very much, the country is sliding into anarchy and civil war....Invading a country illegally was not the means for reforming Iraq. Removing Sadaam was the only good thing to result from this invasion and that wasnt even the reason given for war. One big charade!!

Ideology is what differentiates most regimes, but politicians are pretty much the same. Bush and Chavez are both clowns and the intelligence of neither runs very deep. They are really very similar.

OK, you feel free to think that but Bush is not that evil....as much as people like to think he's not a posturing egotistical bastard.
