Judges Martin and Leonel Mercado have been suspended for life by the Colombian Boxing Federation as a result of their highly controversial scoring that favored local boxer Irene "Mambeco" Pacheco in Baranquilla, Colombia. The bout, which took place Saturday night, was for the the interim WBO bantamweight world title and most observers saw young Leon Moore (now 16-1, 15 K0s) winning the fight. Moore had Pacheco on the verge of being kayoed in the 11th round. Both judges (who are brothers) voted 115-113 in favor of the touted local idol Pacheco. "I do believe we will appeal the verdict or ask for a rematch in another venue," declared Moore's manager Sam Layne.

This is good to see, I would like to see some of suspensions here in the U.S in particular, judges in New Jersey, and New York. Corruption runs deep in the veins of those two athletic commissions. , you can track most of the bad decisions in the U.S to these two states.
