    Default What is Hatton doing???

I think that the biggest fight that everyone has been wanting since 2005 has been PBF vs Hatton. Honestly, I think everyone can agree that maybe Hatton doesn't wanna fight PBF. At first, I thought maybe Hatton has other plans, but what other plans could he have? He didn't want to fight PBF at 140 in 2005 because he openly said he wasn't ready. In 2006, PBF chased the fight a bit but Hatton priced himself out to the tune of 13 million dollars. Now Hatton is choosing to move back down to 140 and chase titles again after initially moving up to 147 because PBF was. I would easily say Hatton doesn't want none of PBF, but every once while he'll give an interview saying that he doesn't think that Floyd is that impressive and blah, blah, blah. I don't understand what his plans are. Anybody that keeps up with Ricky, what do you think he is doing? Is he happy with making good money fighting mandatories for the rest of his career without a big challenge or is he waiting until he gets more experience?

Hatton is carving out interest in the states with HBO.

HBO have always aired Mayweather and he is arguably their poster-boy.

Hatton will face Floyd late 2007 after Urango, then Castillo.

Either that or he will go for Cotto.

The little fella had a fight on his hands with Slippery Collazo and it seemed that his legal wrangles where getting to him.

Now he is refreshed, he'll be seeking the hunger for the big fights again.

Atlanta first, then NY , then Vegas baby!

....actually I think more people want Hatton-Cotto than Hatton-Mayweather

Main reason is you KNOW Hatton-Cotto will be competitive and a BRAWL....Mayweather-Hatton is either just like Floyd's last fight or Hatton wrestles him all night

    Agreed.
Hatton - Mayweather should've happened a long time ago. I would've sold my left arm for that fight a year and a half or so ago.
Hatton - Cotto would be very very entertaining.
Mayweather has moved on up. This ship has sadly sailed.

What Hatton is currently doing is fighting a paper champion bum named Urango, while at the same time ducking Mayweather and Collazo.

firstly slbsur2006 i wouldnt beleive everything you read. and with regard to hatton he should have chalanged witter for the WBC crown to please the UK audiance, but with one thing or another (i dunno why and this pisses me off)he is goin for urango (another southpaw and a young undefeated prospect who is more risky than witter). then him and castillo are (planning) to have a war. then ricky hopes mayweather becons soon and will have no more excuses after that. and for ricky there is nothing after mayweather cos he is the best P4P. then he's planning to retire undefeated and move into either training or being a boxing pundit (like baz mcguigan).

How many threads are you gonna post that PBF is making excuses for not fighting Hatton?
Hatton turned down PBF 3 times, and then priced himself out.
For every story told that divides us, I believe there are a thousand untold that unite us.

I can't see how any true fight fan would want to see Hatton vs Mayweather.

Hatton is like Baldomir, only not as big and not as strong.

Mayweather would stop him in the late rounds after giving him the beat down to end all beat downs.

And I'm a brit and a Hatton fan. No way Hatton mixes it with Mayweather.

Collazo was a test that stretched him to his limits, what do you think Floyd would do to him?

bilbo. if you were a hatton fan as you claim you would know that hatton always has trouble with southpaws (
ever since his amature days many moons ago) but yet he's still fighting another southpaw next year. and if you had followed hatton and mayweather you would see that that is a quality fight in the making.

Hatton - Cotto would more entertaining , or Hatton -vs.- Corrales. Floyd should be avoided unless the moneys right and the ring size can be negotiated. nothing over 18 foot . otherwise to much frustration for both the opponent and the fan. Hell even my wife was frustrated watching Mayweather the other night.. " I just want to bitch slap him, but id never be able to catch him," she said . and she is right on the money ! 18 foot ring or no deal ! put it in the contract !

I don't know why everyone is looking past this Urango fight like it's gonna be a pushover.
Yea, I agree, Urango truely lost his fight to Ben Rabah. But BR was on his bike the whole fight and Urango could do nothing but chase him around the ring and get countered. Hatton is gonna come at Urango and trade. I hate to tell ya', but Urango has some mean power! He might not have been able to connect with BR, but he WILL connect with Hatton. I'm not sayin Urango is gonna pull of the upset, but it will be a war and if Urango sneaks in a good combo, it might shock Hatton. Whatever the result, I see this being full of fireworks throughout the fight.

hatton has already showed he has got a good chin. but aparently urango is like a mini southpaw tyson (which doesnt sound good). it wories me when he fights these risky felas. but hatton always knows the score and he should be more that prepareed for this with enough notice (unlike the colazo fight~)

It shouldn't be.. Hatton needs to pummel this guy if he's going to prove anything.. He can't afford another razor thin decision or highly competitive fight against some mediocre belt holder. It isn't going to help him line up a fight with Castillo or Cotto, let alone Mayweather. And he doesn't have the excuse of weight this time.
