Even the tall guys are like 160lb. I couldn't get down to 154 if my life depended on it, yet it seems like there are far mroe guys at the lighter weights. Even guys in my gym who I'd guess were around 175 are like 132. How's that possible?![]()

i often ask the ooposite im 6ft at 140llb![]()
Don't take this the wrong way.... but you're a beanpole!![]()
Maybe because theres NO fat at all and basically not a lot of muscle.
Boxers can go rounds and rounds, but give them a heavy box and ask them to hold that for a few seconds theyll soon puff out.
that’s not really a true statement mate.. Terry Norris could bench press 400 lbs like it was nothing. Terry was about 5'9 150 boxers are very strong physically as whole.Originally Posted by Jamoie

Aye, suppose it depends on your training.
He could probably bench that much because....you guessed it, he bench pressed frequently.
When i first started boxing i was only slightly lighter but weak as a kitten. I incorporated weights into my training now im a lot stronger and more powerful.
Stopped boxing for a bit, got stronger and bigger, now started back boxing im finding it hard to maintain the weights in the gym because the weights just dropping off me.
several pro fighters ,myself along with Sean Michaels remember that Pro Wrestling star ? we were all working out in a San Antonio gym called the Concord Athletic club. ( high scale Club in San Antonio ) everyone was outlifitng Sean Michaels, Michaels was about 220 lbs. these guys were about 135. Arturo Gatti being one of them. Michaels left pissed off.. hehe.. anyway.. can't judge looks, all that bloated muscle mass don't mean someone is strong. lean muscle mass is the ticket my boxing friends !![]()
Did you ask him to do the sweet tune music....i wouldve
Lords, are you Richard himself?
No I'm not Richard . just one of the gang !![]()

Thats cricket
Do they walk around at that weight? Amateurs fight at roughly the weight the walk around at but some pros drop down 20-30 pounds during training camp and then really drying up just for the weigh in.... then come fight night they'll weigh about 10 pounds more.
If I was a Pro I'd probably be a Middle Weight/Super Middle Weight.... because those 6 foot 160 pound guys walk around at the same weight that I do... which is 180-190 and also I'm 6 ft... but I fight on an almost weekly basis so I can't dry up for every fight... I'd give my self Bulimia or something... :P
Depends on the fighter in regards to what Jamoie is saying... a fighter like Roy jones is incredibly strong and athletic... all round... then you get the guys who starve themselves... they are relatively good against each other and endurance type exercises but not as an all round athlete.
I've worked on building sites dead lifting loads of heavy shite etc... and my body is sculpted from boxing... no problem... I'm normally pretty modest but (and I know this as a fact from a college project I had to do) but 'pound for pound' boxing has made me incredibly strong...![]()
